It's been 6 days since my battery died on my LG G2 android phone and I'm feeling disoriented. I feel like I'm moving in stasis or treading water. I sort of know what to do but I'm not getting anything done.
I had bought my phone two and a half years ago. The battery lasted that long, then it went dark last week, even the usually flashing green light disappeared. I had an inkling that the battery life was coming to an end when I began charging up my phone twice a day over the last two weeks but still it was unexpected.
I brought it back to my Rogers dealer and he basically gave me three options - buy the latest G5 for $799 CAD, the G4 for $699 CAD or one of the cheaper phones. I would have to go this route as I have a very good phone plan ($50 per month including 5G data). The options seem a bit expensive.
I decided to check out some cell phone repair places but the one I went to did not carry the G2 batteries. I got referred to another battery store, where the owner started to pry open the G2 but I had to stop him as he didn't even carry the battery. He found it challenging since the phone did not open easily.
I looked up Youtube and found this video on replacing the G2.
The video gave me the idea that maybe I can do-it-myself so I checked out Amazon and found the battery to be about $15 and the tool kit $5. But then, there were more than one type of G2 battery. Again, my head was spinning. I know I'm a lazy sod and it seems like too much work.
So back to square one.
Grieve and move on... ;)
