RE: Recycling gold from scrap electronics for fun and profit.

in #technology7 years ago

Wow man! a little much for me right now but I have lots of computer parts laying round the I have wanted to do this with for a LONG time. I also see them at garage sales and such often.....How much gold value do you think is in one graphics card or a stick of ram? Jut to give an idea of how much value I might actually have that may inspire me to actually do it hahaha.
Anyways great post, something of real value, I am going to follow you now to see what others hacks u post about!
Best Regards

Thanks!

As I said for a couple others you won't get rich from this but if you have the scrap on hand its worth the time. Its hard to estimate exact yields as it has lots of variables. Older parts are better as they had less refined techniques for gold plating the contacts, ie thicker plating.

Cool so getting old computers from garage sales and stuff would be a good move aye. Another reason I was wondering about the average value (i comprehend how many factors there are) because if I saw an old computer for $5 for example I might know if its worth it etc.
ANywwys thanks for the time
