One of most highly regarded ICO's going on right now is that of SyncFab, a company that's revolutionizing the supply chain sector by connecting manufacturers directly with buyers, eliminating the middle men and the costs associated with that.

To be clear, SyncFab isn't actually the company issuing the issuing the token here (MFG). Users are able to use the MFG token, which is issued by Smart MFG Ltd, on the SyncFab platform with whom they have an exclusive partnership. SyncFab is rated 5/5 by TrackICO, 97/100 on Aingel, and 4.3/5 on ICObench (a very impressive score for them). It's also held in very high esteem among a lot well known experts and influencers.

SyncFab Solution

Small businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators have a serious problem getting access to many hardware manufacturing companies. Access to major companies is often controlled by intermediaries and procurement firms who don't provide intellectual property protection and make it difficult for these small business to do business with manufacturers efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.

SyncFab already has a platform. They've been around since 2013 so it's not something you'll need to wait 3 years for them to develop. Their platform serves as a supply chain 'hub' which connects purchasers with manufacturers. Their goal is to build out the IIOT (Industrial Internet of things) through public-private partnerships.

Blockchain and tokenization helps SyncFab in a number of ways, including by creating incentives for many inefficient processes (e.g. RFP/RFQ process), improving intellectual property protection, eliminating intermediaries (saving both money and time), and by creating a system of records which matches purchasers with manufacturers.

SyncFab has a number of ways they plan to improve things after their token sale concludes. First, they'll be building a public P2P ecosystem for manufacturers. The MFG utility token will allow them to incentivize change in current process such as for payments or tiered rewards. Smart contracts will store necessary data and control access to that data to appropriate parties.

The SyncFab EcoSystem

The SyncFab platform incorporates innovators, shipping carriers and manufacturers, and is probably most easily described via the graphic above. The MFG token, of which 1 Billion are generated, allows both manufacturers and innovators to offer incentives. For example, manufacturers could elect to offer innovators and incentive by giving back MFG token to the purchasers as an incentive or discount of sorts.  Purchasers can reward manufacturers for offering competitive quotes, or responding to RFQ's quickly.

If you are considering participating, you should definitely do your own research and read their detailed White Paper first. Given the amount of interest in this project thus far combined with their reasonably modest 30M USD hard cap, this is a project I'm expecting won't have any difficulty reaching their hard cap.
