Steemit seems to be flooded by the terror of AI. Non-programmers, join me and build your own AI the easy way today and you’ll see how easy it is.
Why should you learn AI?
“The least scary future I can think of is one where we have at least democratized AI, because if one company or small group of people manages to develop godlike digital super intelligence, they could take over the world.”
To learn about this daunting would-be “enemy,” AI, let’s interact with it the easy way. See if it’s so terrifying.
If the robots come to take your job one day, you can just become your own boss.
Tool of choice
In my crash course, I’d go with Python, a programming software that has its own special language, which is extremely easy and friendly to programming newbies.
Why me?
A bunch of great AI democratization promoters are teaching you AI courses, like Sentdex and Saraj on YouTube. They are fantastic people and I learned my programming from them, but you might be afraid of turning into a geek following all the instructions all day long sitting at the computer.
You want something more simplified.
So, here I am. I became a geek myself, because there was no other way. But now, I’m here trying to help you enter this world and understand how machines learn things, knowing you’re not a computer person.
Let’s install Anaconda

Anaconda is a community of scientists who volunteer to dedicate themselves to making Python easier to use.
Visit this page and download your Anaconda: https://www.anaconda.com/download/
Of course, choose the version for your system, Windows, Mac, or Linux, but choose this one: Python 3.6 (or newer if an upgraded version is released when you read it) in 64-bit version.
Must we pay for the software?
No. It’s open-source, a fancy IT word meaning it’s free-of-charge and it’s not any inferior to paid software. And the Anaconda people will constantly upgrade it.
How many parts to go through?
I’ll try to put you on the way as fast and easy as possible.
Here are the parts of our crash course:
- Get data
- Pre-interpretation of the data
- Get your computer to learn
That’s it. I don’t want it to be super long, neither do you I bet.
