So we remember the iOS 10 update that caused many users that updated to the new software to be stuck on the apple logo and reboot. Well it's back, except this time around the device will boot to normal but with in a few seconds the device will reboot and all we see on the screen during the process is of course, THE SPINNING ICON ON THE BLACK SCREEN.
If this is you or know someone with the issue, this is how to fix that. Apple released a new update to address the issue but to some even after the update the issue persist.
So what you will need if the issue persist is a computer and iTunes running on it.
If iTunes isn't on the computer just head over to apple.com and download it.
After iTunes is installed and ready to go, power your iPhone off completely.
Connect the apple cord which you use to charge your phone with or an extra one you have to your computer USB port.
Before connecting it to the iPhone, make sure you are holding the appropriate buttons on the iPhone to successful place your iPhone in recovery mode.
(don't worry this will not delete any information if done correctly)If you have an iPhone 6S Plus and below.
Hold the HOME BUTTON on front of the phone while you connect the phone to the cord connected to the
computer with iTunes.
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:
- Hold the VOLUME DOWN on the left side of the phone while you connect the phone to the cord connected to the computer with iTunes.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X:
-This will be a little different, you don't have to turn the phone off. Go ahead and connect this to the computer and press VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, AND THAN HOLD THE SIDE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT TILL THE PHONE TURNS OFF AND BACK ON. The phone will than be in recovery mode.
If done correctly your iTunes will recognize the phone and will prompt you to UPDATE or RESTORE AND UPDATE.
Whatever you do, do not RESTORE or you will lose all your information unless you have a backup on iCloud or iTunes.
So just PRESS UPDATE, now sit back and wait, when completed you'll be asked to press continue on the phone and enter your passcode to complete the update. That's it, ISSUES RESOLVED.
If it all fails head over to the nearest Apple Store for assistance.
