A series of recent reports indicate that the Swedish automotive industry company Volvo is preparing to compete with Tesla through its creation of a special section for electric vehicles. The company plans to produce a multi-purpose sports car that competes with the Tesla car known as Model 3, and this car is scheduled to be launched before 2019. Volvo has recently announced that it will no longer develop diesel engines, which indicates its shift towards electric vehicles.
Volvo crowned all these efforts with its recent announcement of a separate trademark for the production and marketing of "high performance electric cars" called Pulstar. "The Pulstar will be a real competitor in the emerging global market for high-performance electric cars," said Hakan Samwilson, president of Volvo and its Executive director.
The price of a new Volvo electric car is expected to range between 35-40 US dollars, which is roughly equal to the price of the Tesla car "Model 3." The Volvo has a slightly larger range of 402 kilometers without trans-shipment, while the range of the Tesla vehicle is only 346 kilometers. This may be the beginning of competition in the electric car market. Volkswagen recently unveiled three designs for electric cars, which are planning to control the electric car market by the year 2025. This competition will drive towards switching from fossil-fuel-based vehicles to electric vehicles.
Thank you for reading this, and i hope you enjoyed it.
I hope that the design is decent. Tesla seems like the only electric car company to make their cars not complete eye sores.
Thank you for your comment @paul-doherty
Yes you are right buddy, they are the only company, and that also makes them very special.
