In the digital age there are increasingly more and new terms to refer to technology,

🔽

— The cloud is an example of this,

It has been heard a thousand and one things about the cloud and the uses that could be given to it; from storing photos, jobs, files and more. However, there are still those who are not familiar with the technology enough for what remains in unknowns.

Then, the cloud.

🔽

What is the cloud?

— Its definition seems to be a bit unclear, basically it is a term that is used on the Internet to describe a kind of global network of servers, each with a specific purpose or function. They are designed to store data, execute various applications or make the delivery of services such as streaming videos, webmail, social networks, among others.

Instead of reaching it from a personal or local team, get them on the Internet from any technological equipment with an Internet connection, the information goes hand in hand wherever you go.

Companies use various methods to deploy resources in the cloud.

🔽

There is a public cloud,

Which is the one that shares resources and offers services to the public online. You get access to these services and manage your account through a web browser.

🔽

private-cloud.png

A private cloud,

That it is not shared and offers services through a private internal network. It refers to computing resources in the cloud used exclusively by a company or organization.

🔽

And the hybrid cloud,

Es la combinación de nubes públicas y privadas, unidas por tecnología que permite compartir datos y aplicaciones entre ellos.

But how do I know that I'm using the cloud?

🔽

— Without us noticing, we are making daily use in the cloud continuously. One of the most common scenarios to exemplify would be the use of a web page to access a Google, Hotmail or Yahoo mail account, to name a few.

The cloud can be seen as all services for music, movies, photos, games, among others. Services that you can access independently of the computer or device that you use.

YouTube is another example; It is a service that is in the cloud, since the storage of the videos is done on a remote server, far from your computer.

Dangers.

(Lack of) security and privacy:

All your files or many of them go from being on your PC to being stored outside of it. It means to stop having control over them. You can never be sure who accesses that information or is protected or not as it should be. That is a risk for particular users but even more so for companies. They are forced to entrust internal and confidential information to a third party, which may or may not be reliable. In addition, a hacker is more likely to try to access the cloud than a private PC. The booty is greater.
