The company dedicated to the manufacture of RED cameras has started a new adventure in the market of smartphones. Its first mobile is a terminal without screen and that focuses its operation on the holograms.

Hydrogen One will be a terminal with a surface of 5.7 inches that will not use traditional screens with glass but holograms based on hydrogen, explained RED in a press release. The device's display will allow viewing both two-dimensional and three-dimensional images, as well as hydrogen holograms and interactive video games.

The manufacturer, based in California (United States), has announced from its website that it will sell two different models of Hydrogen One.The first of them is made of aluminum for a price close to 1,195 euros in the presale, And the second version, titanium, for 1,595 euros.

The first smartphone of RED is a modular mobile to which it can be installed new tools with which to improve its benefits, including the capture of images of greater quality, thanks to the "high speed of data transfer", as it explains RED in its portal.

However, the manufacturer also warns that additional modules will not be available when the terminal leaves. The phone, currently being developed by the company, can be purchased in advance for a limited time, although RED does not expect to begin sending it before the beginning of 2018, between January and March, according to the website.

I always thought that the first holograms would involve smoke filled transparent chambers with light zooming through it. :c) It'll be interesting to see how mobiles manage to project holographic images.
