We all know that smart phones require a huge amount of power and it seems we're not ready to cut our demands to reduce battery costs.
Fortunately, scientists from the University of Washington showed that in the future we can completely solve the battery problem.
The new device, which is located at the early stage of research, uses the feedback signal technology. Specifically, its operation is based on radio waves, which revolve around us until we communicate, writes IFLScience.
The science team from Washington has so far managed to demonstrate voice call from battery-powered phone to smart Android phone.
However, the base station allows the mobile phone to be up to 15 meters away during the conversation, but things may change if the base stations are integrated into the phone towers.
"They have hundreds of times more powerful energy, so the diameter can probably rise up to one kilometer," said project participant Vamsi Tala, who worked on the prototype.
The team is now working to improve quality and call development. The invention actually functions like a walky-talky, so press the button to move from conversation to listening and vice versa. An e-ink screen is also being considered to enable delivery of orders.
It remains to be seen whether in the future the use of smart battery-powered phones will be possible.
