With an aim to take on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Apple iPhone 7, OnePlus has launched its new flagship - the OnePlus 5 - in India. The new flagship smartphone comes in two variants - Slate Gray (64GB + 6 GB RAM) and Midnight Black (128GB + 8GB RAM). While the former is priced at Rs 32,999, the latter carries a price tag of Rs 37,999.
The new OnePlus flagship goes on sale in the country from June 22 starting 4:30 PM. The phone will be exclusively available on Amazon India.
The OnePlus 5 is claimed to feature the highest resolution dual camera on the planet. It includes a dual camera (16 megapixel + 20 megapixel) with dual LED flash at the back, and a 16 megapixel front camera.
According to the company, its “dual-camera technology lets you focus on your subject, progressively blurring the background for a gentle, yet powerful effect.” Also, focusing on the OnePlus 5 is 40 per cent faster than the OnePlus 3T.
At 7.25 mm, the OnePlus 5 is the thinnest OnePlus flagship, yet its battery has been improved by 20 per cent over the last-generation OnePlus 3T.
Running OxygenOS, which is built on Android Nougat, the OnePlus 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset.
Other features of the phone include a 5.5-inch full HD display, 3300 mAh battery with the company’s proprietary Dash Charging, Adreno 540 GPU, dual nano-SIM slot and a bottom-facing speaker.
