The importance of mobile phones in the modern day world cannot be overemphasized due to its impact on one's life. But before I go deep, let me quickly describe what a mobile phone is.
Link
A mobile phone can be described as a portable telephone which is capable of making and receiving calls by the use of radio frequency links and this will be possible as long as the user is within the telephone network reachable area.
So now,
Lets take a deeper look into the history and revolution of mobile phones...
Before the wide acceptance of mobile phones, professor Albert Jahnke in 1908 developed a wireless phone, but he was accused of fraud and was charged to the court of law, though the case was dropped. The research was consequently stopped until 1918, when the German rail road system made another test on wireless telephones. Then, public trials was carried out on the wireless telephone system.
This went on until 1940s during the 2nd world war when hand-held transceivers were made available to the military. This went on until mobile telephone for automobile service was rendered by some companies, where vehicles were asked to move around hawking the phone call service to their customers. ![image]() ![image]() [Link1]() [Link2]()
In 1957-1961, some engineers from Moscow carried out an experiment and came up with a pocket-sized phone (radio) which led to the USSR's decision to make a mobile which was known as Altai.

Research on mobiles went on from 0G till 1979 when we had the first analogue cellular system in Tokyo which later spread to Japan and then was commercially introduced to America in October 13, 1983, then Israel in 1986 and Australia in 1987.
This mobile phones research went on and on 6th March 1983, the first 1G mobile phone was launched. The newest innovation cost about 100 million dollars to develop and took over 10 years to reach the market. Here are some of the specifications of the mobile:
- Talk time: 30mins
- Charging time: 10 hours
Demand waiting list 5-9 thousand per day.

In the 1990s, we had the first 2G mobile phones, known as the first digital phones. Great competition ensued between the Europeans GSM and U.S's CDMA standard at this time.

This had a very big recognition and the demand was high. The development gave birth to further moderations to the device. Apart from the calling aspect, other features like calculator, clock, alarm and memory card were included, as well as full internet features.

Soon came onboard by the Japanese's NTT DoCoMo in 1999.
Gradually people were used to the use of mobiles for internet purposes and this gave birth to the 3G technology. The circuit switching of the 3G was however different from the one provided by 2G, but brought data switching, which in turn brought about speed in internet access...
Link
Later on we had 3.5G , 3G+
Finally we had our 4G and 4.5G (native IP networks) around 2009 which means faster internet access that the world never imagined could be possible from the onset.

Now we all await what the automobile world would be presenting to us in the next 4-5 years as the 5G generation is already under development.
Link
Looking around we can not speak enough of the benefits the automobile world has brought to us when we make reference to the:
- Social world
- Education
- Health
- Information
- Security
- Agriculture
- Job creation
- Economic development and so on.
Here are some bonus facts about automobiles
- Mobile phones are more powerful in computing than the computers used in the first moon landing
- The first mobile phone sold in the U.S cost about $4,000 each that was in 1983
- About 340,000 iPhones were sold by Apple in 2012
- Mobile phone radiation can cause confusion.
*Nomophobia is the fear of doing with a phone - Nokia 1100 is the best selling electrical gadget in history with about 250,000,000 sales
- The act of ignoring your friends because of phones is called phubbing.
... It's being nice having you all around...

Most time I think what life would have been without a phone, work are made easy you don't need to worry anymore , because with phone you can solve every problems in every part of the world even without you going there.
The advancement in technology is the best thing that happened to mobile phone's world. It is very importance to also know the adverse effect mobile has. So, we need to take to precausions especially men. Up euronation team
The dopest flashback
Nice research. We survived without phones then, i wonder what we can ever do now without phone
Thank God for the invention of Mobile telephone
Well researched post. Kudos to @dray91eu for thispost
What an evolution in technology. With the availability is telephone many can easily send messages to others (regardless of the distance) with the assurance that the message will be deliver safely unlike the world then without telephone. I just imagine how they survive then. I bless God that I emerge in this great generation and its a collective responsibility of us all to leave this world better than we met it. Let the trend continue until phone carrying (in hand and pocket) become something of the past for everyone. Making it as small as a clothe button.... @euronation, thanks for the insight and kudos to @dray91eu...
I learnt a lot of new things. I am guilty of phubbing too but I do hope to get better.
