Gone are the days when someone who has had an amputation or a damaged body part needed to rely on prosthetic or a wheel chair to move around. In recent times with the emergence of the 3D printing technology, we discover that body parts and other things which were considered almost impossible to create are now being done with steps almost as easy as ABC
The question: is this technology a blessing or a disaster in the making?
Architecture
So we all know the roles an architect plays in relation to building a house, but do we know that far more is required in less developed nations to build a house.
The good part is that we can print a dream home using a 3D printer without flaws and according to specifications, or with flaws so minimal, they are considered dismissive.
This is a video of a printer that printed so many houses in just under 24 hours. Now imagine having a house you dream of in under 24 hours from recycled materials and the end result is so amazing, peole stop to wonder, if this technology thrives, what happens to laborers, construction site workers, construction companies?
Your guess is as good as mine, a lot of people would be out of jobs before we know it.
Automobile companies
Hello to all those expensive vehicles which have a limited amount in the market, 3D printers just made life more less fun for such rare models. Imagine being able to 3D print the 451st Bugatti Veyron when only 450 were made.
Obviously, this could mean a drop in the prices of vehicles which rely on gas to work as 3D printed vehicles are rumored to be environmentally friendly and on top of that, they are also rumored to be durable.
If you need the next Bugatti or possibly own an assembly line (kidding about that), all you have to do is buy the necessary tools and do the needful. What happens to automobile makers? Well some might fold up, some might close up some of their assembly lines like what happened in Australia, a lot of workers will get laid off and we have issues erupting.
Although I made the car printing sound easy, it is not. Engines and every other things have to be fitted into the vehicle, most of which are not printed. The idea behind it is to cut cost not steal designs.
Food
Very soon NASA astronauts will be eating printed foods in space. I believe the ground breaking design which allowed edible printed pizza to be made actually makes the mission to Mars one step closer to becoming a reality.
Imagine food for all in space, when you want it, how you want it. I sense one funny problem though, what if the printer gets broken in space and there is a sole reliance on printed foods, how do the Astronauts feed? Just joking, I am sure they won't send them off with only one printer or better still, there is a plan B.
At least the Astronauts won't go hungry on their mission to space!
Medical field
This is the part I am sure some people would be interested in, 3D printing of human parts. I read somewhere that there are now 3D printed children...fear not, they are not real, but mere representation of how a child looks like during an ultrasound.
The crazy part is that someone somewhere could print a whole skeletal structure in the future to serve as body parts.
Although some parts are already successfully being printed, hopefully, other major parts will be printed soon enough too
Stay tuned for more and leave your thoughts and comments.

In every positive invention there is always a negative impact on it. But maybe this one, you can find more positives in it.
I guess you are right.
With no doubt, 3D printers are a revolutionary invention and a gift to mankind. Today 3D printers have enabled numerous opportunities. But ofcourse everything comes at a cost. Everything has it's own good and bad sides.
While you can transform your creativity into real form, you can also build weapons, which is it's bad side.
That is it, the capabilities of 3D printing puts the gun control bill at risk. But one thing I believe is that the good side if this tech outweighs the bad side
Technology is making life more easier for us especially the disabled.lts actually a breakthrough for most of industrial sectors.
The beauty of the tech truly is making life beauutiful
Hello @ehiboss
Indeed we continue to lean as education knows no end. This is certainly the first time I am hearing about this amazing technological invention, which I trust, would have a tremendous impact in the way things are done around the world.
Interesting revelation
@eurogee
Thank you so much
they are great. and many materials can be used to 'print' stuff, even food
Thanks for reading.
very nice article about 3d printers thanku for sharing this wonderful information
You are welcome
I think that 3D technology will make many things available to all, generate a new revolution of inventions.
Indeed it will
Hello @ehiboss
Indeed i been hearing a lot about this 3Dprinters but never really took keen interest in it, till now i read this post, its really amazing! Thank you for sharing
You are welcome
It is a good thing, people would never be out of a job. Just like many pushed against GSM in Nigeria during its early inception. NITEL workers are afraid they'd lose their livelihood. Some did lose. That was inevitable. But many moved into the new telecommunication companies by undergoing training, a robot would need someone to man it. Some manpower too is required to produce and repair it. The architect may now turn to producing these 3D printers. It would only change the profession of these guys.
3D printing is just a glimpse into the change of the future, just like coal powered trains is replaced by diesel-powered trains. I'm sure some coal expert on trains may be apprehensive of losing his or her job then. Technology can only change, people would have to learn new skills. That is just the worst thing that would happen. Some may lose their job. That's change. After seeing prosthetic leg in action in Nigeria in one prosthetic lab, I can only hope the technology that brought it to bear continues to grow.
Trust me, I get your point, but then not all robots require human supervision. In Asia, there is a factory that is fully automated where robots even create other robots without human presence.
The truth is such a tech would have it's downsides which we barely know of, other than that, it's amazing.
We still have a long way till singularity in robot technology. Until then let us keep our fingers crossed.
Hmm wow technology making waves. But alot will lost their Job. But one cool thing about the word is every thing been set in place, it will surely affect some things. So some will loose their job while some will get job. Any which one, Let us hope for the very best @ehiboss
The job part scares me...but the truth is this tech is simply amazing.
Well done. Technology indeed has gone a long way in making life a bit easier.
It has gone so far...
As have discovered. 3D Technology is most a kind of machines that would help ease so many protocol in other technology to health human needs, that is, if used carefully... Nice sharing @ehiboss. The boss
Thanks
Wow, just hearing about the 3D printers for the first time.
Wow, glad I exposed you to them.
I'm deeply in love with technology 😍
Sorry please, take a number
nice
