You can find robot police starting to work in a variety of regions today, including Dubai, India, China, and they're also now being deployed around the United States.
At some popular airports you can already find security robots patrolling the area. And in California, the Escondido police are soon expected to be getting their own robot police officer under the authorization of a federal grant program.
“That robot will be used to enter into locations that are otherwise not safe for law enforcement to entire, with the goal of establishing a communication between the officers and the person that’s inside,... The idea of that is we go in with the robot, we establish that communication and it keeps us from having to go into a situation where it might be a life or death situation.” - Escondido Police Chief C Carter
In Dubai and other regions you can already find these robot officers carrying out a variety of duties. We've seen these machines patrolling tourist attractions, airports, malls, and other popular venues.
The robot police officer that began patrolling in Dubai was considered to be the world's first, but it wouldn't be the last, as a growing number of regions are looking to adopt this new technology into their department.
The robot police are able to recognize faces, they can speak different languages, communicate directly with central authority figures, and more.
Some police forces have already announced their bold plans to have a growing portion of their department be made up of robots, Dubai has already suggested that they're aiming for around 25 percent of their police force within a little more than a decade.
Not Ready Yet?

Many people might not want help from robots, whether that's getting help delivering their mail or food, or assisting them with a crime that's occurred etc, a great deal have indicated that they're good without the robots in many circumstances. Regardless, we continue to see the rise of these machines and the growing prevalence of robot police in different regions worldwide.
While some police departments might be eager to make the change, not all officers or lawmakers are as optimistic about a entirely robotic policing future.

Is this in our future?

I wanna be the first to slap him right in the face and then put a cigarette out in his eye.
This is how they will come to hate us...
I was being sarcastic.. Imagine, hate crimes against AI becoming a punishable offense when they decide to label AI as sentinent beings.
Military robots seems to me a more scary
