A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) versus Human - Decision Making

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

AI - The Artifical Intelligence kind, not Adobe Illustrator, is by now well embedded in popular culture. Real AI is being developed by engineers around the globe. There is lot of irrational fear associated with AI and some rational fear. For discussion, I propose two questions:

  1. Who do you trust? AI or Human?
  2. Who do you trust? AI with a 100% track record of success or Human with 50% track record of success?

The first question is framed in such a way that makes us AI skeptic.

The second question is framed such that we should logically choose AI.

The author postulates that this debate will escalate within society as humans and machines compete with each other until AI can achieve a greater track record of success than humans for a given task. At this point, trust between humans will break down but society will be held together since we will trust the AI to mediate and augment human interaction.

Any thoughts? Please comment below. Thanks.
