Tim Cook: The curse of my life is Apple's secrets

in #technology7 years ago

Apple CEO Tim Cook has a lot of responsibilities and one of them appears to be particularly tough - protecting the secrets of the company. Apple is known for its high level of protection for its work, although there have been leaks of information. And alongside Apple's new headquarters, the company has drawn criticism from analysts and investors because of the large secrecy of the building, according to BusinessInsider.
This week Apple first gathered the annual meeting of its investors and shareholders in the new Steve Jobs Hall, which is next to the company's new headquarters. Then one of the shareholders asked Cook when they could look at the new building. The answer: Probably never.

"The problem with opening the main building for tours is that we have so many confidential things around, it's like the curse of my life to keep things secret," Cook said.
Still, the company is aware that there is a lot of interest from shareholders and fans who want to get closer to her home. Cook says there is a dedicated visitor center at the headquarters where there is an "added reality experience." It includes an animated Apple Park model where users can walk around virtually. "There is a nice view from the roof that brings visitors as close as possible to the headquarters," says Cook.
Cook's comments also reflect the comments of Apple's chief designer Johnny Ive last year. Then Apple was again criticized for the futuristic design of the building, which is a large circle with plenty of space. "We have not made Apple Park for other people, I think many of the criticisms are strange because it's not done for these people, I know how we work, you do not know," Ive said.
