RE: The Mini Desktop Computer: A Phone-Based Laptop Alternative

Is she using a 1 amp, 2 amp or 5 amp charger? It should say on the charger itself. Most tablets are designed to charge at 2 amps but some (like the newer ipads) need 5 amps to charge at full speed. If she is plugging it into a 1 amp source, it would explain why charging it takes so long.

Sort:

I'll have to take a look tomorrow after I wake up on the charger that came with it. I definitely don't think it's a 5 amp charger, as it's just an older Galaxy Tablet so I would assume it came with either a 1 or 2 amp charger.

I just know that in comparison to our phones it's as slow as a turtle. It takes close to 10-12 hours for it to get a 100 percent charge. She usually just charged it for 3-4 hours and then uses it until it died or was close to dying.

For sure it sounds like a 1 amp charger. I had the same problem. Any 2 amp 110v -> USB wall adapter will fix the problem.

I've got a 2 port 2.1 amp charger somewhere around here, I'll pull that out and give that a try and see how it charges with that. I'm more worried maybe it's just the outlets in my house, to be honest. I'm thinking the outlet on her side of our bedroom might be a bit fucked up. But, the wiring in here is super fucked up overall, we've had electrician over here twice who's told us we basically need to have the whole house rewired, but that would be a ludicrous amount of money.

Also, I'm just curious, are you ever on the steemit chat?

Rarely. Why?

Was hoping for some recommendations for other places besides the general chat, lol. I've asked around a bit, but the only tag I was told to go check out was the yunk one, and that one isn't all that active.

Though there's nothing wrong with the general chat. I spent 2-3 hours last night talking about that awful Netflix Death Note movie, eating canned cancer, and a guy who crowdfunded building a submarine only to sink it so he could try to cover up his murder of a journalist. Good times.
