The technology of the future - a quantum computer

in #technology6 years ago (edited)

Welcome to my blog. This is my first article so do not judge strictly. I decided to share with you my thoughts

When I draw in my head the world of the future, I see a developed high-tech society in which robots and all sorts of gadgets with artificial intelligence, interconnected through superfast Internet, make a person ten times more efficient, and in general life in such a society is much easier and more comfortable.
And this future, I think, is just around the corner. Many modern futurologists see the next stage in the development of our technologies in the advent of quantum computers, on the threshold of whose creation we are now.
In general, a quantum computer is a device that uses the phenomena of quantum mechanics (quantum superposition, quantum entanglement) to transmit and process data.
A quantum computer (as opposed to the usual one) operates not with bits (capable of accepting a value of either 0 or 1), but qubits, which have values of both 0 and 1 simultaneously. And if an ordinary computer takes dozens of years to solve some of the tasks facing humanity today, because he will solve these problems by brute force, then for a quantum computer it is a matter of a moment, since he does not need to go over the solutions, for the reason that all the solutions are already in the qubit, due to his quantum nature (! a quantum particle can be in several places at the same time). This is how to crack the matrix!
What tasks can be solved? For example, to fully decipher the human genome, and then, based on this information, develop new effective drugs, considering how different chemical configurations will interact with the body. And this is without experiments on animals, and even more so people.
Kubits are, by their nature, completely unstable, and they forget information as instantly as they find it. Therefore, the main task now facing the developers of quantum computers is to create a device that can save the results of their calculations. Well, and of course, you need to somehow sort out the errors that arise in the process of such large-scale calculations very, very much.

Theoretically, this is possible if the quantum processor is completely isolated from external factors. How to do this in practice is that task, on which the best minds of our civilization are now working.According to experts, when this task is solved, then 99% of the power of such a computer will go to correct errors, and only 1% will be involved directly in solving problems, and this 1% will be enough for us!
Friends and what do you think - are such technologies for our benefit or will they only get worse? Leave your comments, I will be glad to hear your opinion
