Basic science, an introduction to the world of welding

Hi steemians apakabarmu, hopefully in good health always. On this first occasion I will introduce welding to all my friends steemit. Why, because this modern diera las is a promising job for many people.

Before we talk further. First let's know what is weld definition, and how the use and function of welding. According to Wikipedia:

Welding is one of the metal grafting techniques by liquefying some parent metal and filler metal with or without pressure and with or without adder metal and producing continuous connection. The scope of the use of welding techniques in construction is very broad, including shipbuilding, bridges, steel frames, pressure vessels, pipe rapid, pipeline and so on.

Yes, welding is an activity of connecting metal with various purposes. Many things can be made with metal if you are good at welding science. Especially in this modern era, many people are interested in the various features that are made to change the various appearance of their home with metal. For example making Trellis, Fence, Canopy, Ladder, and so forth. Even airplanes, boats, and many other things are done with the help of welding.

In the science of welding is known there are three kinds of welding is often used liquid welding, welding press and desoldering.

The following explains the three types of welding classi fi cation :

  1. Liquid welding is a method of welding in which the joint is heated to melt with a heat source from an electric arc or a burning gas flame.
  2. Pressure weld is a welding pnara where the joint is heated and then pressed to become one.
  3. Desoldering is the method of welding where the joints are bonded and incorporated using a metal alloy having a low liquid point. In this case the parent metal does not melt. (source)

Types of welding

In the welding world, in addition to the classi fi cations I mentioned above, there are also different types and systems of use, another one. So also related metal used.
The following two types of welds are best known :

Las carbide

Carbide welding is a process of metal connection with metal (welding) which uses carbine gas (assetel gas = C2H2) as fuel, the process is to burn fuel that has been burned gas with O2 so as to cause a flame with temperature that can melt the parent metal and fill metal . (source)

Electric welding

Electrical welding is one way of connecting metal by means of an electric arc flame that is directed to the metal surface to be joined. In parts affected by the electric arc will melt, so the electrode that produces an electric arc will melt at its end and propagate continuously until it runs out. The molten metal of the electrodes and of some objects to be jointed are mixed and fill the gaps of the two metals to be joined, then freeze and connect the two metals. (source)

In using a safe welding power you must be in a voltage condition of 45 volts, so that the heat generated greater. This makes the metal you weld quickly melt because it has enough heat. In different situations you can adjust the heat according to the requirements and it depends on the type of electrode you are using.

friction welding

In friction welding, heat arises as a result of friction of the two metal parts to be joined by spinning at high speed. The heat of the friction will melt the metal, and if there is little pressure, a connection will occur. After the metal begins to melt, the coefficient of friction will decrease and the increase of heat will stop, so that the material may not overheat. (source)

Las friction is generally done in the auto industry business. And mostly to weld the plates that are generally very difficult. Friction welding is usually used for metals that are quite difficult to adhere to ordinary welding. Such as alumaniau and copper, alumaniaum and titanium.

What are the advantages of using welding

Of course, in every case you need to know the benefits for yourself and other people to avoid unwanted things. Well in using weld you can reap some benefits as follows:

  1. Material savings, no reduction in cross-sectional area
  2. No additional plate or connection profile required
  3. The connection is more rigid or rigid
  4. Drawing details is easier and simpler

And finally, that's what I can write for as an introduction with all of my steemians friends. If there is a mistake I am sorry mohn in this case. And on the other hand I will cover more each type of weld and how to learn to explain well.
