My illustration for @teardrops @surpassinggoogle. The poem of tears

in #teardrops7 years ago (edited)

When love or friendship owes you
to tenderness awaken the soul,
and the soul must appear sincere
in the eyes,
will be able to deceive the lips by pretending
a seductive, fake smile,
but the actual test is only shown
with a teardrop.

A smile can be a smile sometimes
an artifice that fear disguises;
behind it may even hide the hatred
that makes us bitter.
That's why I want more than just a sigh
when the eyes, expression of the soul,
For a moment I watched it darken
with a teardrop.

Oh, how many times to achieve glory
more than one soldier in a rage is struggling
in ruthlessly killing his enemy
in the battles!;
but pick up the one who fell on the ground
and his compassionate wounds bathe
with love, with pity, with feeling,
with a teardrop.
And when he comes back, filled with that pride
that makes the chest beat that overwhelms;
when tinged with enemy blood
hangs his sword,
reward you for all your efforts
to embrace the beloved woman,
and kissing him on his wet cheeks
with a teardrop.

When the empire of the eternal night
take your flight forever my soul;
when my lifeless body rests
under a tombstone,
if by chance you approach one day
where my sad grave is located,
wet only my ashes
with a teardrop.

I don't want marble..., monument.
that to ambition vanity lifts up:
sumptuous mantle with which the foolish pride
covers his nothingness;
they will not give their emblems to my name
false pride and vain glory;
what I want, what I only ask for
is a teardrop.

The poetry is yours?

Hello @teardrops, the poetry is not mine, the author is Lord Byron, I forgot to put the font in the publication.

Here is the address of the source

I already put the source of the poetry in the publication, thanks for the observation.
