“Death and old age are just another path to take, as real as morning and as evening.”
― Na'ama Yehuda, Emilia
This old woman with an umbrella in one hand just seated and patiently waited for the Sinulog dance to start despite the unbearable heat of the sun. Me too was a spectator.
Just like the old woman I patiently waited for the Sinulog to begin. As I waited my eyes lingered in a distance just when I saw this woman which remarkably caught my attention.
Her look and the wrinkled she wear on her face intrigued me. It's like a picture of burden, sadness and weariness in life. I myself felt depress upon seeing her in such demeanor in broad day light.
I observed and stared at her for a while thinking of ways on how should I approach her to get a picture of her. So I finally approached her and asked permission if I could get a picture of her. She just gave me an affirmative nod. And so here she is.
Honestly I feel sad whenever I see this picture. This is a sad reflection of what everyone of us will become sooner or later in life. Her face is a mirror of everyone's sadness and struggles in life. A warrior that she is that she able to reach this stage of her life. And her face is a testament of how many battles in life she conquered and endured. The fact that she survived only prove that she is a battle tested warrior of her own time.
I know for a fact that some of us, in one way or another, is deeply broken inside. But we decide to continue to exist, live and survive because this is what life is all about. Her face is a general manifestation of old age and how old age stripped her of her youth.
In this sad reality of old age nobody is exempted till death comes to us at the very end. It's too sad that we were born just to die in the end. Our very own existence is an antithesis of our own demise. But our death does not stop the cycle of life. It has to continue for as long as forever. And cheers to that.
So her time has come. And in due time ours is next.

Getting old and reach that stage is hard.
The process of dying itself is painful.
But death is not scary.
The human body is just an illusion to the Spiritual Masters.
The superficial or untrained mind is easily fooled by this notion.
Buddha can testify so.
the notion of death iridion9 is highly subjective. it depends on one's perspective on how he/she views about death. but whatever our perspective about death is, no one is exempted when one's time comes. thanks for dropping by.
