Our Third Sealed Tournament

On Saturday 10th of February 2024 at 9pm (Philippines Time) , we held our Third Splinterlands Sealed Tournament. For this one, we had sent out invitationals to some of the most prominent people within the Community and top tiered Guilds, requesting a Champion to compete. They most certainly did not disappoint, they were all super supportive and accepted graciously. To participate in this Tournament, each Sponsor/Player would send 5000 DEC to IGN: teamphgiveaways which would be used primarily for the rental costs of the cards, a small management fee and the rest as prize money for the winners. A massive should out to our very own @gamesontheblock for creating our platform in which we could 1 click rent the desired cards.

The structured format of this Tournament was Diamond Modern and Double Elimination. All the reward cards as well as the basic Chaos Legion Summoners (Including Quix the Devious) were made available on all 8 accounts, there were no Soul Bound Cards nor Gladiator Cards. As well as this, each player was allotted 50 Random Selected Cards from the Chaos Legion Set and 5 (2 Common, 1 Rare, 1 Epic and 1 Legendary) from the Rift Watchers Set.

We then generated the bracket match ups and began with the battles. Once the 2 persons had completed the battle, they would send through the results and the link so that viewers could see the matchup and progress. The whole draft and battles were completed live. Both @damour and myself @mangomayhem are avid gamers and could not help but to analyze each and every game. I was in awe of some metas, it is great to be on the commentator side for a change, as I know, as a player, there's always a lot of pressure, but the strategies that I was seeing from a limited card selection proved to me that we have some real strategists in the game that we love so much.

Above is the list of Winners. A massive shout out to @hyde-20 (Fat Jimmy’s Scholar and Entry) he was consistent and effective on the battlefield. To be honest the matches were very competitive and it just made me more excited to host another one in the nearer future.
We decided to award all participants with at least a smaller prize, the top 5 receiving DEC and the bottom 3 receiving a Chaos Pack Each.

The stream lasted for over 2 and a half hours and we had about 30 viewers. We are aware of some changes that we will be making on the next one, revolving around Time (Which is more achievable for the masses) and time spent during the draft picking of cards. @gamesontheblock is hard at work trying to make this more efficient and I am confident that he will be able to achieve this.

We aim to launch our next Sealed Tournament on 09th March 2024 at 10:00am (Philippines Time), this would allow players from Australia, US and Europe to be able to compete within a reasonable Time. Invitationals will be going out in the next couple of weeks.
