Beginning of the year 大年初二 - 开年

in #teammalaysia7 years ago (edited)

Today is the second day of cny also known as "beginning of the year" (开年). ; married daughters visited their birth parents, relatives and close friends. (Traditionally, married daughters didn't have the opportunity to visit their birth families frequently.)

According to legend, the cny eve and first day, is the god's rest time. Also according to Buddhists and traditionally we are not do any " killing" , the ancients to "clean" to greet the new year, to thank God; that's why we have our vegetarian dish on the first day.

On this day, as a Cantonese, after finished the offering to the gods, my family must have a auspicious new year first meal in the morning.
