Chinese New Year cake is the traditional Chinese food, Is the main food of the Lunar New Year food. A sticky glutinous rice steamed pastries, during the Spring Festival, will use rice cakes to worship ancestors and gods. Rice cakes, also known as "higher year" mean eating rice cake has the symbolism of raising oneself taller in each coming year or salary increase.
There are many types of rice cakes, and today I introduce the banana leaves rice cakes is my mother made.
Ingrediance
Glutinous rice 500g
Sugar 500ml
Fresh banana leaves (or tin foil instead)
Glutinous rice make into powder reserve. Wash and dry fresh banana leaves, Cut banana leaves according to the shape of the container used. Ensure that the smoother surface of the banana leaf faces upwards.
The sugar and glutinous rice mix together, create a dough.

年糕分为很多种类, 今天我像大家介绍的是我妈妈做的香蕉叶年糕。
用料
糯米 500g
糖 500ml
新鲜蕉叶(或锡纸代替)
- 糯米拿去磨成粉备用。新鲜蕉叶洗净抹干,根据使用的容器的形状切香蕉叶。确保香蕉叶的平滑表面朝上。
- 将糖和磨好的糯米粉加在一起,彻底搅拌,直到面糊光滑没有任何颗粒。
- 加盖用中火蒸约5个小时至熟,蒸的时候若要加水,要加热水和搅拌,以免年糕不均。
4.当年糕准备好后,将混合物小心倒入容器中以除去气泡. - 年糕最常吃法:切成块状,蒸热或是把年糕块加面粉团炸来吃。也可以加番薯或芋头一起炸。这个是我最爱的吃法。
