Have you ever wondered what goes through people's mind?
I mean, yeah, but i mean like really put yourself into their shoes.
Like what the hell are they thinking about half the time they lumber around, smiling and crying and laughing and everything?

Your parents;
Not when they kiss you on the forehead
or lecture you on your exam results,
but when they sit alone at the empty dinner table at 4am.

Your friends;
Not when they pass you eraser
or lend you their essay sheets,
but when you catch them looking at you...
or out the window.

Do you think they picture themselves flying out the window and landing with a splat,
or soaring with shimmering splinters of glass like kaleidoscopes around them/
or do they picture their thoughts flying out the window?
( do they call that "losing your mind"?)

And then.
THEN.
You think of that one person
who's hobby seems to be to confuse the shit
outta you on a daily basis
and the only thing you can think of
when you dive into their
complicated
enigmatic
tangled up yammer of mind is
" Do they ever think regular thoughts?"
like oh,
I need to pee.
or
Dang, I'm hungry.

Doesn't it seem surreal?
And then you start to think about everything else;
the daisies you plucked,
the cats you've petted,
the babies you've carried,
the everything.

Suddenly you wonder if someone else is putting themselves in your mind.
What?
