I am not a cryptocurrency guy

in #teammalaysia7 years ago

I got nothing better to write currently. Not that I don't have any idea in writing anything, but my mind was distorted with many other things that is related to Steemit politics. There's whale war going on, taking either side would put us between the crossfire, say one thing good about 1 side will be bad for the other side. There's great development in local support groups, but also seeing some Steemians being left out. There are people who whining about why they wrote so damn long with no upvote, where people who does a cheap photography post got very big payout. I don't have an absolute answer for them, neither do I have an answer for myself.

And on I continue to search, accumulating my hard earned crypto day in day out. I started to notice, there's this difference with "crypto" and "cryptocurrency". As #teammalaysia group calling for a small gathering in KL, I was one of the earliest to sign up, paid my 5 steem to attend the meet. That point of time, Steem was about 3$, but towards the meet, steem price was 8$. I heard people started to complaint about the meet was being overcharged. There's even 1 party crasher came ask me whether can he get into the meet without paying and he doesn't wanna eat the food. I was stunt by such comment. I understand if he's not aware that were having a meet, I don't mind to get him register on the spot since he's already at the meeting place. But what surprised me was the comment by that person, that he said his steem is hard earned steem, he's not going to simply spend that. I was like, holy crap! Which means I earned my crypto easily? Everybody is paying the same price, what makes him so special? He crashed the party anyway despite the disagreement. May be next time we should hire armed security at the front to prevent this kind of situation, ofcourse pay with Steem. Hehe.

Anyway, now I started to realize, people are being overly obsessed with cryptocurrency. Don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't like crypto, but to directly associate it with currency is a big taboo to me. When we compare the crypto value with currency, then we will be started to worry whether it's the right time to sell/buy. It's the mentality that matters. Since I joined in August 2017(mind me I'm not active until end of November), I have never really paying much attention to the currency value of how much it worth. Put it this way, when you're playing games over the Internet, you earned some virtual money in the game, will you be thinking of how much does it worth? If you're going to stay in the game, power up! Use whatever resources you have, continue to power up yourself so you can fight with your enemy or to empower your ally. Wait a minute, so when is the right time to withdraw? You got so much of virtual money in the game? Well there's no right or wrong timing. When you need to withdraw, you gotta do it regardless. All you need to worry is find the right buyer, agreed upon the right price to buy your virtual money.

My advice to my friends in Steemit. Come on, take it easy. It's not like we are getting paid over Facebook posts previously. We have this virtual money, treat it as we are in the game. Forget about the currency value. Until you reach a point where you decide to use some of the virtual money for something you wanted to buy either in the game or in this reality world.

I'm grateful to have this local community #teammalaysia supporting me over the past 3 months. And I also thankful to have friends like @bitrocker2020 and my new made friends from China. I have accumulated 350SP so far. I managed to sell 15steem last month, but I used them all to buy roast pork, eat it and shit them all away. Was it worth it? For the roast pork, yes it's only RM380. That's the reality. If we don't associate that 380 with 15steem, 15SP will only worth 0.01$ upvote at 100% voting power. So why can't we just set it straight, roast pork is 15steem. End of story. When I wanna eat some roast pork, I will take out 15 steem. If that 15steem weren't able to sell for 380, I guess I will just eat less. Hehe. Be a crypto guy! I don't wanna be a currency guy. Don't you agree? So, no photo today. I'm gonna see how much votes I can fetch. Will be back to my quality content again either tonight or tomorrow.

Sort:

you will always get a vote from me - at least if I understand language you write in :D
and mark my words: you will see FB chain quite soon.
best regards

Mark my word, we all know Marc Suckerburg wanted a piece of crypt, but he's now having problem dealing with the "sponsors". Imagine Colgate negotiate with Marc, saying if you allow us to advertise on your blockchained Facebutt, we will pay you in your own buttcoin by your client who use your buttcoin to buy our toothpaste. Reason? Because they're already dealing in CURRENCY in the first place.

p/s: The respect are mutual. Team voted you.

thanks!

You've been earning a lot of comment votes, no plan to blog more?

i am seriously considering it, but I would like to provide some sensible content and to do it one needs a good plan :)

Blogging is about sharing. I'm a casual blogger or not even anywhere near to be categorized as a blogger. First go and think of what you're really good at, chunk it up in to different topics which is related to your strength. Say, your strength is data network:

  1. Can data network be sold? If yes, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where?
  2. Is data network reliable? If yes, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where?
  3. Difference between traditional book keeping and data network? If yes, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where?
  4. Is data network going to replace the traditional books? If yes, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where?
  5. Can data network be the future business? If yes, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where?

Merely few examples. And you can have "NO" as your topic some other day. Again, how? Why? When? Who? Which? Where? And nobody can say NO to your topic, because that's YOUR topic, YOUR point of view, YOUR opinion, YOUR contribution to the community. And you can have more branches from this 1 little topic.

Here. A little help for you and you'll be a super data network blogger in no time! Oh wait, I think I'll let you decide what you're going to share. I don't even know what is data network or whether of it's existance. I'm just making it up.

Vote you cos it's very funny. Especially this:

I managed to sell 15steem last month, but I used them all to buy roast pork, eat it and shit them all away. Was it worth it? For the roast pork, yes it's only RM380.

No photo, but worth the vote ah, in my opinion :) got very good points especially we memang don't earn when we post elsewhere pun.

Thank God. At least you're the only organic vote! I was waiting to see if there's anyone will even click in and read this!

@davidke20 You're the inspiration for the #teammalaysia, I'm glad to be part of the team :D

I am honored. Thank you for being part of the team.

Upvote you is because you are really good in all sense. In the meantime, I also hope we can meet up in short future as I only knowing blogging but not steem XD.

Back to KL? Call me and we shall meet. Bring along @dolphinee also since we all know each other.

When i started steeming, i do have the mentality of treating Steem as currency. Up to a point, I felt it is not necessary to spend it, even on SP.

Fortunately i realize my way of treating Steem is wrong.

Thanks for the guidance that u have given me @davidke20

You're doing just fine! Keep the momentum!

Just like what India government say, they don't recognise cryptocurrency as currency, they valued it as an "Asset", just like Gold and Diamond. So Power Up and HODL!

Basketball, few words and summarized my whole blog post! Absofreakinglutely agreed!

Alright, lesson learned: don't spend on something that will transform to shit. Thank you.

Eventually, you gotta eat. I did not ask you don't spend on food.

Doesn't matter even if there's no photo to accompany this post. I enjoy reading what you write because you're always straight to the point, you simplify things and make them easy to understand. Of course, you never failed to inject a dose of humour; especially your BM posts. 😆

Eh. Thanks for the complement(don't worry I can't detect sarcasm because it's not in my dictionary). I will do my best.
