Recruitment industry is densely overpopulated and if you want to market yourself in such a crowd, then your tactics play a pivotal role. If you are marketing for recruitment companies, then as a foremost practice, you have to hustle in order to be unique. Now here comes a major problem. Since the industry is overpopulated, it is quite difficult to find newer ways that could attract your potential customers.
Therefore, it is necessary for you to get away from the field for a while and give yourself a couple of minutes (or hours) to put yourself into the shoes of your prospects. Think about their needs and try to determine what your competitors are not offering to satisfy the customers. That is your plus point! Tap that lurking sea of opportunities!
Recruitment lead generation
Let’s talk about few of the most popular and essential requirements for recruitment lead generation.
-Outbound marketing
Well, I understand that it is quite orthodox to call people and market your products but trust me, the value of your words while talking to someone on phone is far superior than some engaging content on social media.
Never hesitate to market your business even in an orthodox way. Imagine the worst case scenario. What could your prospect say? No? At least it is better than not trying.
Inbound marketing
Here comes the darling strategy of 21st century. If you are looking for recruitment lead generation, you must have a website with a call to action button, where you could narrow down the most obvious and promising prospects.
Events
Promotional cycles have immense power when it comes to convincing masses into your favor. It does not only allow people to see you in person, but the cyclic nature enables you to refresh your mind and adjust focus.
How to market a recruitment agency?
This is where most of the businesses fail to communicate. See, I have heard a lot of people questioning “how to market a recruitment agency?”, and the answer is pretty straightforward. You need to prioritize quality over quantity.
The internet is already flooded with a wealth of content and quite honestly, your prospects are least interested to read the same boring lines over and over again.
-Get interactive
Come out of the traditional black and white format. Make your customers feel that you exist for them and because of them. Use different colors to gain their attention. For instance, the NY times creates stunning maps on a regular basis and even though I am least interested in such statistics, they manage to capture my attention.
-Skyscraper technique
It is quite understandable that some people are not very good when it comes to creativity. Therefore, in order to avoid that barrier, you could simply surf the content of most celebrated recruitment agencies. Now look at the way they have presented themselves in front of the public and mimic those strategies.
-Newsletters
Do not depend on others to visit your website. That is a very poor strategy. Instead get into their routine and give them a reason to look at your agency.
In order to do that, you should send an array of newsletters to your subscribers for relevant job posts.
-Get social
See, marketing strategies for staffing agencies are not quite difficult, but you need to convey your message precisely. Since most of your prospects can be found on social media, it is wise to connect with them. Use the page wisely to spread your word and share quality posts with them.
-Reddit ads
A lot of agencies underestimate the power of reddit and head straight for the ‘giants’, such as Google Adwords. In my experience, these quite oversaturated, particularly for the startups. But reddit allows you target the particular niche categorically.
I work in recruitment as well and agree that it is so hard to differentiate yourself from other firms.
Here in the Philippines they are usually called headhunters and have developed a nasty reputation of promising the moon to candidates and when they get to a prospective employer they get disappointed and waste both the time of the job seeker and employer.
We need to be able to manage expectations.
Today's recruiter is a combination of a social media advertiser, account manager to clients, trainer to job seekers and at times a speech therapist as well.
