This is a GREAT post and an awesome addition to the contest! It is true we don't learn a lot about women in school so it's kind of awesome you have been able and took the time (!) to read up on one important woman in your own country's history. Your research is now forever embedded on this blockchain so it has become just a bit less easy to forget her <3 Thank you!

Thank you @soyrosa. I wonder why that is? History was not my favourite subject but all I vaguely remember is learning ancient history (which doesn't seem overly relevant to much) or about historical wars and conflicts. I don't remember learning about any of the good things people (particularly women) did.
We live in a world that has become very (white) male-focussed, and even amazing (white, POC) women got written out of our history books that... Yes... You guess right... Have mostly been written by (white) men :-)
That's why it's so important we speak more about awesome, cool, heroic, bright, innovative women \0/ It would literally have made us more interested in history, right?
I think you're right. I know I would have taken more of an interest in history if this were the case. I also if teachers could like events of the past to how things are now, that would also help. One of the things I didn't like about history at school was I could never make the connection between what happened then and why I should be learning about it. As I got older, and I made these connections myself, history became a lot more interesting.
