BEFORE I SAY I DO, WHAT? a must know.

   Introduction 

Man was created as a social being- And God said it is not good for man to be alone. Therefore it is normal and natural for us to go into relationship.

However, the question we should ask ourselves is “with what motive”

Am sure you will not over step your bonds or fail to do it right? 

 DEVELOP AN INTIMATE  RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD 

• —The most important thing a Christian single should do is to rely not on any person for— satisfaction,
• — joy
• — and fulfillment
• — rather he or she should rely on God for them
• — Satisfaction, joy and fulfillment should come from the relationship the Christian develops with Christ. Anything else that might come is just an icing on the cake.

 RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD MOST  IMPORTANT 

•   It is the only relationship in which the other person will completely keep His promises to you.
• It is the only guarantee relationship you will ever have in this life.
• It is the only relationship in this life which will never disappoint you
• It is the only relationship you can bank your hope on to help you get through all other relationship

 HOW DOES YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD HELP IN OTHER RELATIONSHIPS 

1. You should be a whole person and this can happen if and only if you are intimate and passionate about God. He makes you whole
2.  When this happens, you then attract whole people.
3. When you are not whole, you attract different people and that brings a whole lot of problems.
4. When people do not have a sense of obligation for being your all-in-all, it liberates them from wanting to be with you.
5. A lot of people stumble and fail in relationships because they place all their hopes, satisfaction, fulfillment and validation on a person. This becomes too much for the individual to deal with and may end up in the breakage of the relationship.
6. If this is not checked, it may end you in a circle of repeated broken relationship.

 TO START ANY RELATIONSHIP  REMEMBER 

• Why you are going into that relationship
• What do I intend to achieve from this relationship
• How do I go about achieving what I want 

 WHY DO WE GO INTO RELATIONSHIPS 

• To know more about the opposite sex(male and female)
• To know how to approach the opposite sex(Male and female)
• To have a friend, companion and a partner.
• To have someone to marry( Male and female)

 Types of relationships 

• Dating,
•  Friendship
•  Courtship 
•  Marriage

—These relationships should be known to our parents family. Are your parents aware of your relationships?

   What makes a successful relationship 

• Why I am going into this relationship.
• Decide what your standards are going to be.
•  Conclude in your mind to stand by your standards no matter what
•  People become frustrated in relationship because of too early and too many expectations. Avoid that.
