Don't we also objectify each other as humans constantly just to get through our day? When you walk down the street you aren't concerned with people on a human level. You don't acknowledge that everyone is a thinking thing that lives a nuanced life of emotion and all the other burdens that come along with sentience. You think that dude looks smelly and the line he's walking might intersect with my own so he's probably about to get in my way. We come obstructions, obstacles and patterns of movement in other peoples' eyes. Not to mention our brains are meant to recognize shapes, curves especially for men, in order to keep the necessary blood pumping to keep this whole human species thing going. Not gonna lie I've had some intimate thoughts about statues before nothing that has lead me to commit an act of agalmatophilia, but enough that I had to walk around with a boner tucked into a belt in the mall. If you ever find yourself in that situation eat a really good pretzel. With a good pretzel in your hands the world around you becomes superfluous.
