The Sea Axe: Keel Beam & Frame Assembly
The construction begins with the assembly of the frame designed prior, we where advised that tabs of 3.5mm were required for the 3mm card; I suspected that this would be too much play, however we ran with it, but yeah it would have been better to have a closer fit between the part stringers (the long beam members) and the webbed transverse frame pieces.
Parts Sheet
The parts sheet was good (the numbers were not scribed) but I wasn't the last person to look at the file, and one of the frames came back that was unusually too high. It was unusual because they all came out of the model which should have been scaled together. I will assume that particular piece somehow got modified accidentally.
We popped the pieces out and labelled them with a pencil and began the assembly
We used some Styrofoam as a mount during construction. The following is a mock up of the keel beam and stingers, note that this is actually upside down so we had a flat surface to construct on. Our design allows for us to encase the entire frame in the hull. The other teams have for some reason used beams above the hull that needs to be cut off later. This would have been a major hassle and I am glad that we didn't do this.
Working in groups is somewhat annoying, because sometimes people come up with what seems like a great idea or they rush in to it thinking "she'll be right mate"; Nek Minute haven't thought of all the repercussions for future processes. Thankfully our team is not opposed to taking some time to talk things out and listen to all the reasoning before going ahead. This has made the build significantly easier.

My Current Quotes
I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money.
Thomas Sowell
I chose this quote as I like Thomas Sowell and I have been thinking lately on the fairness of how the proceeds of our labour are spent, he also said:
Helping those who have been struck by unforeseeable misfortunes is fundamentally different from making dependency a way of life.
