Good on you for taking the plunge and stepping out of your comfort zone - it can be quite liberating. Most people are too scared to quit a job without the next one lined up, but I've never done that myself. Good luck with the new gig.

Also, you're right, the ID thing is getting worse. Look no further than the KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations. A lot of businesses are being forced to adopt KYC to combat crime and terrorism and all that BS. Our free Australia is becoming more authoritarian by the day.
