How do you guys make money using Hive? I made an account when Jeff mentioned it a couple videos back but my account still says $0
I'm in exactly the same boat; I fired up a Hive account when Jeff mentioned it, spammed out some comments and likes to see if it was working but alas... nada.
You get some by upvoting comments and having yours upvoted by others. The amount you get depends on your and others' reputation and HP, from what I understand. Every HIVE gained this was takes about a week to be sent to your wallet, so just keep at it and a continuous flow of free money will come.
To be able to interact more with the blockchain to give you more opportunity to make money comes when you "Power up" Hive. Its like a saving account with a lockup period, but by doing so you are rewarded with the ability to comment up and down vote more and make your own posts. Really if you haven't deposited anything into your HIVE wallet and powered up it takes a very long time to build your account status to the point where you can even post or comment more than once every couple days. This is done to prevent bot accounts from gaining to much influence. Now bot users have to invest on the front end, plus if you get enough downvotes its a natural filter for the network.

I spoke with a friend after a plant medicine ceremony, and she mentioned a pattern in her lineage where people would lie and then experience Alzeimers later in life. Apparently you get reputation as you post comments, which increase the amount you get and give others by upvoting. To increase it further, you can add more power (HP) to your HIVE wallet, which will also increase your Resource Credits, allowing you to post and upvote more. There's also what's called "curation" within the HIVE network which you can set up for automatic upvotes for a passive income. You can also play some Rising Star (free P2E game on the HIVE network) for a bit of extra free money. Check out Hive.io and learn as much you can about their DAPPS (Decentralized Applications) under ecosystems. There are more than just what they have partnered with on their website but its a good start. Then there are newbie threads on hive.blog and PeakD. I'm not huge on YouTube anymore but if your new to hive or crypto in general you can learn a lot from YouTube still but don't take trade advice from anyone. do your own research. Just use other peoples knowledge as a tool not gospel. (although jeff has been pretty spot on since ive followed him)
