I'M ON A SELFIE WITH THIS MAN

in #taxiphil7 years ago (edited)

I TRAVELLED a mile going back to my place for a matter of one to two hours after I have visited a friend for a get together in Muñoz. Only that, and nothing else, so I have to travel back on this very instant for some other business purposes I have to settle down.

I held a taxi to drive me in my destination instead of waiting for the bus to be filled up by many passengers and then move. I just realized i would be feeling relaxed if I drive myself in this kind of transportation, a way to help my travel back so fast and convenient.

I know I was not happy and even calmed as I was inside, not because I was not comfortable with the taxi or the driver but perhaps because of a sort of problems I still have to face whenever I get off the car.

The car stopped for a moment at the pedestrian crossing. It waited until the movers accomplished crossing and give way for the car to continue. So I moved my head closer to the window to look at the different views outside but this never guaranteed of helping me calm and feel comfortable even though I see the point of appreciating the nature of the place.

Alas! We moved and continued. I picked up my phone, swiped the screen to check the time. It was four-twelve in the afternoon. I still have an hour of travel. The sound of a beautiful love song whispers me of sweet words. I closed my eyes and tried thinking of the persona in the lyrics of the songs, then wanted to take a nap by its melody. I did it! I rather did.

The car stopped. My driver glanced me at the mirror. He spoke a word, but blurred to my hearings. He stopped the music and repeats the word.

"We are already here, sir!" said he.

I looked around and agree with driver. I get my wallet to give him the 500 pesos as my bill and placed it back to my pants' mini-wallet. He went a little faster in giving me my change. I never smiled, but thanked him instead while holding the money and counted it with my both hands. I knew it was not exactly the street where I had to stop, but I chose to just leave the car and walk a little miles until reached the bus station going to City of San Fernado, Pampanga.

The place caught my attention as I saw many passengers who were approaching the fare collector to reserve them with seats. In my intention to get a seat too, I hurriedly fill in the line then fill again by another person after me-- a strange guy with his blonde hair and shiny black shades.

In a short period of time, I got up the bus after I had paid only a hundred and two pesos change that I had in my hand. I seated in the back seat and slept.

I sipped a glass of cool water as I reached my apartment and went to my bed to lay. I seated down and fell  my body. I felt the smoothness of the foam. But in my surprise, I didn't feel my wallet at my pantaloons--- I went outside to look for it, but i did not find it. I felt very disappointed. It adds to my great burden, I told to myself.

I knelt down my knees beside my bed. I cried and uttered a prayer.

My only hopes to whoever who happened to pick up my wallet that he pr she would use my money in right way, that he or she was in great needs like i needed it. I hope that he or she would only return my cards and pictures.

I salute this man for his honesty, despite in great need, he is still able to return my wallet with its complete content.

          1. My 15, 000 pesos

          2. My ATM Card, and

          3. Identification Cards and pictures

He spoke a testimony that he has a son who is going to take a Licensure Examinatin in Engineering. When he gets home, he saw and picked up a wallet that is in car with plenty of money. It is perhaps the answer of his prayer to pay for the requirements needed by his son in taking the board examination as well as to free from the debt he borrowed from his neighbour.

Indeed, he kept the money that night because he was so teased to use it, and that because of financial incapacitating that strikes his family. But his conscience as a father does matter to decide in giving it back to whom it belongs.

What made his guilt arises is just because of the photo of an innocent person in the identification card inside the wallet. He got it and had taken a look at the picture. It was an Engineering student! He thought of his son, then, thought of me afterward.

"I'm not going to use it, especially that it is from a student--- an Engineering one!"

He called me in this middling night to tell his purpose. He told me to meet with him in the Ocean Park, for him to personally give back to me my wallet. And I have to grab an opportunity to give him thanks too and then to take a picture I called it "SELFIE!
