“the world has changed: it did not change without your prayers without your faith without your determination to believe in liberation and kindness; without your dancing through the years that had no beat.”
― Alice Walker, Hard Times Require Furious Dancing: New Poems

You can feel it, can’t you? That unmistakable shifting of the tectonic plates in your life is thanks to the magma blast we got from last year’s solar eclipse in August riding the groundswell of Saturn back in Capricorn. Many of us are ready to surf the upheavals of last year into 2018. We’re ready to cash in on the sacrifices we made, the folks we left behind, the places and pastimes and thought patterns we bid adieu.

But like an actor waiting for the curtain to rise and that spotlight to snap on so we can put on one helluva show, the stage manager appears in the wings to tell us they’re holding the house for another five minutes—no, another ten minutes—because people are still buying tickets for the show. If you were to dash out on stage anyway, just because you’re raring to go, you’d risk destroying the fourth wall and along with it, the crowd’s suspension of disbelief. Your fellow actors may not even be in place yet. Today is a day to redirect any adrenaline you’re feeling to things that you can control. Run your lines and limber up while the cosmos gets into place. Besides. Wouldn’t it be better to perform for a sold out crowd than just a few folks in the front row?
