Geography of the region: Acquaintance with Tarutino village (Part 6)

in #swmchallenge7 years ago

The expectations of the villagers were justified, and with the advent of the new government in Tarutino, perestroika begins, social, economic and cultural life flourishes. Similar conditions were achieved by commoners for many decades, but now, with new forces and without obstacles to the colonists, they were ready to step in to meet the changes.

After the departure of the Romanian army from the village, in 1940 Tarutino became a regional center. The hospital begins to function, in which more than seventy beds were placed, they took the place to the maternity hospital. In September of the same year, an elementary and incomplete secondary school is opened, as well as a technical school. The state allocated about one hundred thousand rubles for the transformation of an abandoned club, in which they later decided to organize a mobile theater that can accommodate up to five hundred visitors. A month later, the editors are based, and for the first time a regional newspaper called "The Red Banner" appears.

Three kolkhozes were formed at once, to which instruments of labor were transferred, a hundred and fifty horses, two hundred and seventy cows and more than four hundred sheep. All this wealth went to the Tarutians from the German colonists who left in a hurry. They again launched a knitted fabric factory, expanded the iron foundry, put into operation bonded-carpentry shops. After it began to produce products before closed steam mills (6 pieces), a butter mill and a creamery.

A significant date for Tarutino is the twelfth of January of the year 41, when the population first takes part in the election to the Supreme Soviets of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR. However, this idyll did not last long, and the villagers soon had to defend their views and fight for freedom.

When in June 1941 Germany attacked the Soviet Union, a rally of workers, collective farmers and youth took place. The villagers discussed further actions and soon came to a unanimous agreement - they are ready to destroy the hated fascism. Almost all men of military age immediately after the meeting went to the military enlistment office. The remaining villagers built defensive barricades.

On July 22, the German troops arrived on the ground of Tarutino. A camp for the detention and torture of prisoners of war was built on the territory of the village. At that time, at the hands of the German detachments, three hundred and fifty villagers were killed. The people did not want to put up with the established regime, fascism for them was hateful and hateful to the point that they were ready to die, just not to be under German rule.

Soon the invaders began to select the villagers in the ranks of the Romanian army. This news made people flee from Tarutino.

Enterprises once again ceased to function. Plants and collective farms looted, and the main factories, mills and other buildings were destroyed, and cattle were appropriated. According to estimates, the damage from the fascist power at that time was more than 10,000,000 rubles.

When Tarutino and the surrounding territories were liberated, the district and village council was re-assembled. In 1944, measures were taken to rapidly revive the destroyed farms and buildings. In November, they restored the function of the hospital and opened a polyclinic. Educational institutions began to work, some retail outlets, as well as water supply and residential buildings were restored.

Tarutintsy also collected 50,000 rubles, which were transferred for the construction of equipment of the Danube Flotilla. In 1946, the Leninist collective farm began to operate again, after which it was fixed eight hundred and fifty hectares of land. Despite the drought and death of most of the crops, residents did not go hungry. The state has allocated seeds, agricultural equipment and other necessary equipment. The villagers coped: the next year was fruitful, it was possible to recover all losses.

Since 1945, compulsory education (seven years) has been introduced in the village. Five years later, nearly half a thousand children are enrolled in the school. Over the following years, businesses earned new strengths, jobs appeared, and residents gradually departed from the events of the past.
