Swaging .224 Overview (Part 1)

Several people wanted a video after my bullets were featured on Elvis Ammo's channel, so this is what I was able to cover of the swaging process without having my point form die that's out for repair, or any 22lr brass on hand. I'll complete this once I have them in hand. Even so, I hope it's more informative than the swaging videos I found when looking into swaging for myself.
Admittedly, it is a time consuming process, but the results are cheap jacketed .224 bullets that can be pushed over 3000 fps.

I ultimately decided to go the swaging route for .223 because COWW aren't readily available in my area and Rotometals can get expensive. Not having to harden my alloy keeps costs low.

I had to redo some parts, so I hope I didn't cover things multiple times.

►I'm using a BT Sniper Deluxe kit for swaging .224 flat base and rebated boat tail bullets (a one-off custom order RBT kit).

I see that I forgot to show the base punch with the rubber on it, that one's used when point forming RBTs.

►He're a list of the steps involved. It's involved, but not nearly as overwhelming as it seems since some steps can be done in bulk and set aside (if this old geezer can do it, you can too):

BRASS:

1. Wet tumble brass (1 teaspoon Dawn, 1/4 tsp Lemishine)
2. Derim brass
3. Wet tumble brass ( Tablespoon Dawn, 1/4 ts Lemishine)
4. Anneal brass
5. Wet tumble brass (1 teaspoon Dawn, 1/4 tsp Lemishine)
6. Separate brass by headstamp
7. Separate brass by weight

LEAD:

1. Cast cores
2. Size cores
3. Remove excess lead "foil" from cores
4. Wash cores
5. Oxidize cores
6. Separate cores by weight

STEP THE NEXT:

1. Insert cores into brass (core shaker)
2. Seat cores
3. Remove excess lube by rolling on towel
4. Form point
5. Remove excess lube by rolling on towel or (washing more thoroughly if desired)
6. Inspect
7. Size if necessary

LOAD THEM IN CARTRIDGES AND HEAD TO THE RANGE!!!
