Do you think some kind of scissors or shears have a place as a dedicated tool in any kind of survival/bushcraft/3-day kit? Multi-tools are great for odds and ends, but I like dedicated tools for specific tasks, and a decent set of Fiskars are fairly cheap. It would be handy for any fabric-related projects

I've never had a situation yet where I needed larger scissors than my multi-tool provided. There are a number of tools I'd use more often that I don't even carry.

Depends ultimately on how much weight you're willing to haul around.
