Hexali was a test of what I could do with a simpler start than my usual Weavesilk, Artbreeder, or Deep Dream Generator mix and matching.
I literally started with a blank 2000x2000 white square, and began adding simple elements to it:
I added a second shape and a little touch of color, to diversify the feel a bit
Then I created several filtered images in GIMP, using the G'mic-QT plugin.
I used one of the G'mic-QT filters to combine the layers
Then went to town with some symmetry manipulation, trying to make an interesting pattern:
I then began playing with the pattern to enhance the form:
And look, Windows 10's DRM tech somehow broke momentarily, showing what I'm watching right now !
And voila, Hexali was born !

I'm always happy when others find my work and find it pleasing, especially with this piece where I started with a blank canvas.
