Celebrating Success by Honoring Failures: My "Shit" Album! (Should have had a better camera...)

in #success7 years ago (edited)

At the time I am writing this, I have been on Steemit for about 12 days and it has been a trip! I am going to share my stats, as well as some images of art that I have sold, but failed to take adequate photos of, in the past. It has been brought to my attention that is is an injustice to my art to have such low quality photos...so I decided to make this post, with the remaining pictures of pieces that have low quality/bad lighting along with an apology for not providing better (they are living in peoples' homes now, so I cannot retake them unfortunately) This one is called "Galaxia" and it was my first space painting, of the milky way:

So here we go with the stats...I have gained 183 followers (A big sloppy kiss to each one of you - Thank You!), I have posted 393 posts and my reputation is at 50. I will post a screen shot of my balance after my first week (approximately) at the bottom of this post. The painting below is called "Turtle's all the Way Down" and was my first online commission sale! Unfortunately, I failed to get a decent photo of it. This has since cost me potential earnings! I had the opportunity for this image to be used as a top-deck for boards, but because of the poor image quality, it is not usable :(

This final piece below is called "Former Aspirations"
It is of the Moraine Lake area, in Lake Louise, Alberta. It is the view from Mount Temple, a giant mountain that is actually one of the most accessible peaks above 11,000 in the Canadian Rockies. I lived in the general area for a couple years and it had been an ambition of mine to do this hike the whole time I lived there. I never got to the top, because I lack climbing equipment and the experience to do it safely and always seemed to be working on the days that more experienced climbers were going up and bringing noobs with them. I eventually moved from the area and have moved on from my former aspiration of climbing it(for now). Hence the title.

I think I might have a couple more post payouts rolling in after this, but nothing too substantial. So this is my first week. I am trying not to compare myself with anyone else. I am just genuinely happy with the fact that I can potentially earn for doing things I do already (social media and promoting my art).
I am even more happy for the support and love I have received from so many of you, through your comments/upvotes/resteeming and following of my art! Thank you so much for welcoming me with open arms...
On a final note, I received my first upvotes totaling triple digits of a single post, yesterday! I know it will probably go down substantially before the payout comes, but who cares! The fact that I could even do that is only because of the reception I have received and I am blown away. I feel like I have made a lot of failures in my life, but it is never too late to begin again and I am so fortunate to have such a chance, here on Steemit!
I have a lot more art to share and will keep posting my milestones...I would love to here about your successes and failures!
PS I realize that the font is hard to read in my screen-shot so here is a summation:
0.047 STEEM
33.664 (+27.558) STEEM Power
16.905 STEEM Dollars
71.72 estimated account value

Well done on your success. Its so cool to see so many happy posts. Keep it up.

I feel like steemit has way more positive vibes than FB lol

It so does. I do get slightly annoyed at the people that beg for resteems and votes and follows.

I was guilty of it my first few days, but now I am concentrating on creating content and will let people decide for themselves lol...of course we all want everyone to upvote/follow/resteem but that is obvious, it is why we are all here :)

good interesting post. I like it)

Thank You :)

This is pretty inspiring stuff! :) I love your art! Following your account!

Thank you! I live to inspire :) I have a lot more art to share :)
