Brick Lane in London is a bit of a Mecca for street photographers, there is an abundance of quality graffiti on show and it has a very retro feel to the area, a famous part of London's East End.
Carol Burns out for a fag
(In the UK "fag" is another word for "cigarette" and not the same meaning for those over the pond in the USA)

This image features a mural of Carol Burns and the lady herself in the same frame. I had no idea at the time of shooting and I'm delighted by my good fortune, what are the odds? Maybe not as great as I first imagined as the shop she is emerging from is her business. But still, it was a stroke of luck for which I am grateful.
As I said I had no idea at the time of shooting and it took a friend of mine to point it out, someone who'd met and spoken with her and took her photograph a couple of years ago.
Her father Charlie who passed away in 2012 at the age of 96 is well known in the area. He was the "Oldest man on Brick Lane" and the paper merchant was known as "The King of Bacon Street", having been there since 1915. He was also the boss of Repton boxing club for 20 years.
The Mural was painted by "Nether410" an artist from Baltimore, Maryland in the United States who specialises in local community and the people within it.

Great photo and story! So...is she really reminding herself not to forget the keys when leaving the house?! :D
Thanks and could be, although she is holding the key a bit like a cigarette.
What a delightful image! You were certainly in the right place at the right time!
Thanks, makes up for all those wrong place wrong times ;)
Great capture!!
