RE: When Ecuadorian Kids With No Education Are Smarter Than You

One lady was so desperate, she kept trying to give me her baby and telling me to take it back to the US with me.

Awwww, so sad. :( I haven't even been near these situations. This shows that you actively look to get involved with the cases where you want to help. I want to be like that, but I haven't done anything to get there (I haven't been active, always trying to get myself out of trouble instead of helping others).

It's hard to change my lifestyle when I'm so focused on getting my feet off the quicksand. Maybe this shows why society degenerates into such inequalities. :(

@cryptosharon Wow, that's interesting, it really does show that I guess! Because I'd imagine in Venezuela you'd see that without having to look very far. I guess I thought wrong (or I read way too much about how to escape Venezuela on the internet the other day, haha, so I read about some pretty desperate situations).

Staying out of trouble is helping yourself :) So look at it that way, haha. There's a saying that you can't pour from an empty cup. It basically just means that you have to fill up your own cup (help yourself) to have anything to give others.

You will get out of the quickstand. I hope steemit helps you out of the quicksand. You deserve it.

No, no, you're right lol. There's a looooot of that in Venezuela. I just don't leave my house like, almost ever. It's even unhealthy for me. I see a lot of people eating from the trash, wearing broken clothes.

But I'm also at the capital, in what whe call "el este del este", which is the richest side of the city. We're in the poor part of a rich neighborhood, but we're still much better off than people in other states, other cities, and even other parts of this city.

I'll try and get myself out of my quicksand quickly to join the help parties going around the country. I've seen many charities and nfp orgs that do a lot of work in other states. I want to give a big helping hand once I can. :3 Thank you for the inspiration <3 And for wishing me well. I'm flattered that you think that.

Oh true, it's not even safe for you to leave the house! :( Please stay safe... you've been the most amazing person I've met on Steemit. That's right, people. You read it...go follow her!

People eating from the trash breaks my heart!!! Seriously, if I had tons of money I would just adopt 10,000 kids (and adults haha) and take care of them all.

So far all I've managed to do is start a failing non-profit haha.

I'm a loyal follower of the saying

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Even though my big brother prefers

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

😂😂😂

Jokes aside, I truly believe that charities should help set up the foundations for a community to rise, be independent and leave misery on its own, instead of just throwing money at it and expect it to grow into a beautiful tree.

jaja your brother, chistoso. I totally love and agree with that fish saying, too! Totally agree with the charity thing, also. That's part of what I wanted my non-profit to do, was educate people. Hopefully someday
