I don't know much about steamit as I'm also new to this platform but one thing is sure that we can increase our profile reputation just by doing a good conversation on the quality post by the users who has good reputations like @flamingirl
Dear, both of you are doing good and new. But it not means that you can't increase your repo.
You can do everything on Steemit but you have to work hard by yourself to get success.. No one will give you easily upvote.
Just write some best content and comment related to author blog.
