Stream of Consciousness: Apollo vs. Cassandra

Apollo asked Cassandra if she knew where this was going.

She didn't.

"What good are you?" he asked.

She retorted, "If I told you, would you believe me?"

He let out a belly laugh. "Cassandra, my dear, don't ever forget who I am!"

She sat back in the seat in frustration and grimaced.

"Don't get frumpy with me, sister. Just tell me where this is going."

"I'm not telling you anything!"

He stopped the car abruptly and glared at her.

"We're headed to Hell in a handbasket!" she yelled at him.

"Well fine then, Cassandra. If that's how you want it, then to Hell we go!"

"Why am I even in this car with you?"

"Where will you go? With whom will you converse? Hmm?"

She felt uncomfortable. The thoughts never ceased. She was always right. Always. And yet people still never believed any new information she offered them. They continued on their blissfully ignorant lives never connecting the dots. And they were happy to do so. She was tired of it.

The car started moving again. Apollo was talking about hotel arrangements in Hell. She opened the car door and jumped out of the car. She rolled out onto the grass. She wasn't seriously hurt.

'If I have to go about my life without Apollo, all the better. At least it will be my life,' she thought to herself. 'Now... where am I?'
