WOW, just Wow. I'm sure any number of expletives could come to mind, but it's wow. I find myself driving, in the diesel I call Big Red. Trailer full of survival gear, headed south. Southwest, but who knows where? I'm just glad these cell towers still work, for now. Hoping to hell that my contact has the intel I need, not sure I can trust this scanner I foraged out of that dead pawn shop. Funny, I always thought in this post-disaster scenario I'd be rummaging for guns and ammo, but I have more than any 10 pawn shops would have anyway, and more than most of the gun stores have this time of year. Left half for the parental units, and my 'big brother'. Hope he remembers his basic and M16 training. They wanted to stay, but I know better. No time to argue. Gotta Jet.
It's a 10 or 11 hour drive, and I'm hoping against hope that I can make it before a perimeter is set up around the area. Also pretty damn sure that this was a strike by the Deep State, my contact has basically told me it's a huge oval from Eastern Colorado to 'almost' DC, but south of Chicago and east of Denver. Contact says it's clearly a political thing, except for the state of Illinois. Contact is puzzled by this, I say that's a No Brainer. Illinois would be Blood Red if you took out Chicago. Ahhh.... the lightbulb went on!
I keep saying "contact" because all of these are text messages, from a number I did not have. At least it shows area code 469, Dallas and Northern Texas. At least this jives with the preliminary dust-off point, Texarkana... Contact will not reveal any more info, except that we are acquaintances online. Literally dozens have my digits, mostly gun forum folks, so it's a measured gamble. One I must take. Contact won't even reveal if it is the gun board, nothing. Strange.
It's a good thing I had the trailer set up for showing my generator. The STG is up and running, I can charge the battery bank, or run the frequency drives and produce pure sine-wave power, 3 phase. All I had to do was throw in the survival gear, most was in totes and ready to go. Plus I grabbed the Silver. Complete bug-out, and all these years I had been planning to stay put when this came down. Well, I think pretty soon the guys in NBC suits will be showing up, of course that's all for show, but they won't know it. Probably tell them it was a fast-acting virus, but nothing is that fast. I barely made it home from the bank when 'IT' happened. Still not quite sure what It was, but if I had a better exposure to it, I would likely be a goner.
I was working on the STG when there was like a partial eclipse or something, but the sun just dimmed. No clouds, just less light. I had the trailer up close to the garage, where Dad has the hookups for his gas generator. Everyone was in the house, Mum was making dinner, lunch, dunch, whatever she calls it. These people eat at weird times. But then again I do too, but the point is it was early afternoon. After this "eclipse", or wtf/e "IT" was, I noticed the Chevy Avalanche that runs up and down the concrete drive next door was doing. Like running right into the storage shed! What the!!!
I ran over to see if the driver was OK, and through the windows, which were down, I pulled up short... He was so red and pustules breaking out all over, I turned an ran the other way. I went to the next door neighbor, Carl and Pam. They were both coming out to see, I yelled "Don't get too close!" They stopped within 15 feet or so, looking sickly, Pam actually threw up.
I went inside to use the landline, my parents insisted on keeping theirs. Called 911, all it did was ring about 8 times and a recording said "no one is available, please try again later" and I thought that was strange. Called the Sheriff, no answer. Starting to worry, I went out front and tried my cell. Same 911 message, called City Police, just to check. NO ANSWER, WTH? Then I got the text message. It said THIS IS THE BIG DIE-OFF GTFO DODGE! About that time I noticed the place across the street, where they sell pot, they are all lying around their hot-tub... red, blistered, like they just died instantly. Fell over in place. OMG it's REAL!
Any title suggestions, I will take them! Probably make a hashtag so this is searchable too.

You've got a nice story start here, I don't know some of these terms, but I certainly stopped at postules and did a slight gag LOL. Awesome work !
NBC Suits = Nuclear, Biological, Chemical safe garb.
Behold:
Thank you for explaining <3
Nice beginning!
The potential titles that are coming to me are "Ground Zero" and "D-Day," but that might just confuse things.
How about "Big Red at Ground Zero" . . . ?
Very Good! For a 'working title" at the very least! :D
I am putting it IN
Thanks -glad you like it!
Journey
This is an extremely well written Agenda 21 scenario. The conversational tone is easy to get into. It helps that the narrator is likeable, seems real and is also edgy; you want to listen to his story.
You've also planted lots of hooks in the first few paragraphs: Who's 'big brother'? What's Deep State done? Why are we experiencing this apocalyptic state? How does the narrator know to get out? Who's the 'contact'? Why was the gear already packed (does he know or is he a paranoid type)? 'IT'?
'Dunch' – nice!
Really liked this. You're good, man.
Anj x
Wow, some of that is unintentional, I guess I can use that to my advantage ;) One struggles with adding in these bits and leaving them out. Less is More, IMO.
Glad you liked my meal term, I think 'linner' has been over done :D
Having those 'hook planting' instincts is certainly a bonus in creative writing.
I've never heard of 'linner' either but I prefer 'dunch' anyways :D
Forgot... Have you read The Road by Cormac McCarthy? That's a really good example of apocalyptic writing. Very dark. The film is shit but the book shakes you to your soul (if you have one :D)
I've read the book. It is interesting.
Part of that movie "The Road was produced 10 minutes from my house at Conneaut Lake Park, PA.
Cool. Did you watch the filming as it happened? :)
It was all blocked off from the public. ;(
aw nooo. Bet you had fun recognising everywhere when you watched the finished film though, eh :D
Nope, but even better, I have absorbed thru second hand osmosis a ton of stuff from my prepper community contacts online. I don't go to the meetings, never did LOL! I'm like a stay at home catholic as far as 'prepper church' goes :P
lol 'stay at home catholic' :p
I guess this is your biggest fantasy man... having the perfect opportunity to use all your rifles with no fear of prosecution xD
Cool story bro.
Anyone can unload their guns in National Forest/USA (some rules apply). We also have 200 meter range sites to unload as well. No prosecution. No fantasy.
@spiritualmax
:P Then why would I try and escape the red oval and go to where there is still order and Rule of Law?
Try an keep up, Bubba... I know it's hard LOL :P
Because it is fiction!
Purdy Much, I have plenty of places to shoot. Now last I checked, ZOMBIEz are still not "in season" :P
But... zombies!
Nice piece of fiction, you have me hooked. Can't wait to find out what happens next.
Interesting story. I can't wait to hear the rest.
no title require when you know the post is from @underground ;)
;) apparently not...
OMG I woke up this morning to find the Yankee states are under siege, the shot has hit the fan and they've let some kind of chemical agent out, or maybe it was some kind of perverted test of that new 5G, DNA activation of all the crap they've been dumping on us in the Chem-trails. Stupid idiots, Illuminati Zionist pigs, I've got to grab my gear, my kid, and get out to the coast and start making my way South before that crap blows down here. Shit. I better hurry. I better stop by the jobsite and grab my tools too. I knew this day would come I just didn't think it would be here so soon. I'm not waiting around to see how this story ends. I'm out of here. Got lots of work to do now. I can't believe this shit.... I guess it's about time for some sort of "Alien Invasion" to unify us in to the one world government.. Cast net. I got to get my cast net...
You are toast as soon as you hit the coast my man @spozone. Stay away from the waters! The Alien Invasion is all a ruse ... our own governments ready to pick us off one by one. Don't go by the jobsite either ... stay focused and get the H outta there. LOL
Stay by the sea safe as can be. Via Con diaz. Mexico is just a day or two walk down the coast, only a couple of channels to cross and a day or so after that I'll be in La Pasca,Mx. and you guys up here can turn into red chicken pox or glow in the dark from all the radiation.
Did you mean Via Con Dios? LOL Or is that the @spozone rendition?
Too much to get through ... red chix pox, what do you think is going to happen in Mexico? Have you been down there lately? I hope you are brown ... :)
Hopefully I'll learn how to write and speak Spanglish a little better. I do at least know my name there it's "Weto" I figure if the red state rash is heading this way and the USSofA has gone belly up I might as well head further south. That and if the thing turns nuclear it might be a good idea to go towards the equator to avoid the nuclear winter. I got a good friend down that way that has 250 hectares of land up in the mountains if it comes to that. Mexico isn't that bad once you get away from the border towns. Better still on the Pacific side where they got better surf.
Equator is a very good idea, some are saying California may end up down there instead of the plates falling in and everything sinking. yeah i dunno i've been there a lot, a lot and it is very dangerous all over. but if you are familiar and okay with it all, GBY!
LOL! Could be any one of those things... or combination thereof! ;)
I don't feel like I'm far enough into it yet to give you any title suggestions, but I can tell you I'm in!
Looking forward to more, that's for sure. I was wondering how in the f--k cell phones were working, but then noticed it wasn't a world-wide apocalypse. Anyways, thanks :)

I liked the start very much. I am also co-writing an apocalyptic novel with my daughter and I hope to get some feedback on it as soon as I write a piece of it in here. I look forward to more exerpts... no... the whole book! BTW, not to sound like an editer but we NEED to know who this character is. Descritions etc. At least in your mind, you should know age, weight, charactersitics etc to convey that to your audience. When I read, I get lost in the book. If an author can do that for me, I'm hooked. Example: When I read the book The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the first bit of the book described the barren landscape of the area. Almost chased me away from the book. All of a sudden, it grabbed me. I didn't put it down till 4 am!
Yes Indeed, these are all good points. I do appreciate it, and keep it coming!
my kind of story! i love it, i was really into it and can't wait for the next part .. . excellent !!
The man was inspired!
He must have been!
