Hello. I’m am releasing for the first time in about 12 years some of my experiences on Hollywood Boulevard dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow (a.k.a. Mr. Rhumsmithe). This collection of stories will be released a little at a time.
The full book isn’t written yet. There are still things I must work on both in my personal life and writing before this project is completed.

COIN TRICK
While James is standing in between the stars of Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner, he has the idea to glue a coin to the ground on Harrison Ford’s star. He reaches in the bag that carries his cell phone, balloons, and pennies, nickels and dimes.
He grabs some change to look at it in his hand. He grabs one penny, one nickel, and one dime, dumping the rest of the change back into his bag.
Reaching into another bag that is hanging from his belt, he searches for a tube of super glue. Finding it, he pulls it out and uncaps the lid.
He places the coins in his right hand heads up. With his left hand he holds the super glue and then dabs drops on each coin. He carefully places the lid back on the super glue, careful not to flip the coins in his hand over so as to not let the liquid run onto his hand. He places the super glue back in the pouch he got it from.
He looks at the star of Kevin Costner, then at Harrison Ford, making a quick decision to place the coins tails up around the name of Harrison Ford. He presses each one down with a little pressure to make sure that the coins are going to stay in the places where they are put.
A passing tourist looks down at James and chuckles to himself saying, “Oh the old coin trick!” James glances at the passing man who has a smile on his face. James gives a smile and a nod as the man continues to move in the direction he is going.
James stands back up, and then takes a few steps back to place himself close to the curb, staying in between the stars of Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner. He continues to work, waiting for passing victims to see the coins lying on the ground.
Tourists come to take a picture with James. So far no one has noticed the coins lying on the ground. James watches and waits for the unsuspecting victim that is going to notice the coins.
Then this lady who is going to take a picture with the star of Harrison Ford kneels down beside the name so it is upside down and backward to her. Looking at the star a little closer she says, “Oh look, money.” She attempts to lift the coins from the ground.
James quietly and quickly moves up behind her with a balloon sword. Her friend sees James is about ready to scare her friend. A smile crosses her face. The lady who has attempted to move the coins from the ground says, “They are stuck to the...”
James taps her on the shoulder with the balloon sword, while at the same time he lets out a soft, “Arrr,” near her ear.
“Oooohhhhhhh!!!” she cries before finishing the sentence. The woman almost falls to her side away from James as she bawls out, getting up and away from the sound. Her friend starts to laugh, taking the picture just in time for the scare. The woman who was frightened has her hand to her heart and begins to laugh herself.
With a smile on his face, James says, “Trying to steal me silver? How dare you.”
The lady smiles back at James as she goes to check the picture, and then she and her friend take off in the opposite direction.
CATWOMAN
This black chick comes to the Chinese Theatre in the early morning dressed as a Catwoman. She has her own take on the character. She wears the mask of Catwoman that shows most of the face with the pointy cat ears. For the body, she wears a black swimsuit that covers the upper part of the torso. Over the swimsuit, she has a leather-wrapped around her body.
James has just finished taking a picture with a tourist when he spots a kid in a stroller from the corner of his eye. He reaches in one of his pouches to grab Chinese balls. Catwoman is standing next to the stroller blocking her face with a fan to block those who are taking free pictures from afar.
With one hand she holds the fan steady in front of her face and she sticks the other arm forward, motioning with her hand for them to come forward. In a nasty, fed up voice she says, “I don’t work for free! What is wrong with you people?” She turns to face the street. “God don’t you people listen?!”
James starts walking up to the kid with the Chinese balls rotating in his hand. At first, the kid has a small smile across his face, but as James inches closer, the kid’s smile starts to fade into a frown. When James is just a few steps away, the kid starts to cry because he is now afraid. He squirms in his stroller, reaching for his parents, but he is strapped in by the stroller seatbelt which prevents him from getting out.
James backs away as Catwoman says, “Oh my God! Scare the poor kid! Get away from him, druggie.”
James replies back, “Like you’ve never frightened a kid.”
Quickly she says, “Just back away hobo, strung-out addict,” in a bitterly nasty, cruel voice. Then she turns her attention towards the parents to say, “Pay no attention to that homeless loser,” in a nice sort of way.
The woman just smiles at Catwoman then turns her head and rolls her eyes. She then walks up to James, shakes his hand and says, “ Thanks anyway.” In the hand, she slips some money for him and goes to look around the area of the Chinese Theatre.
James flashes the money at Catwoman and says, “This is what you get for being kind,” in a sarcastic tone. Then he puts the money in his pouch.
“You need help James,” she says.
“And you could be the one to give it to me,” he says, acting like a drunk once more.
“You are a druggie that is a homeless, loser,” she says spitefully.
James stops giving her the attention she craves and puts his concentration back to the people.
