Corrective colony of special regime "Black Dolphin"

"Black dolphin" (the official name "FKU IK-6 OFPS of Russia across the Orenburg Region") — corrective colony of special regime for for life convicts in the city of Sol-Iletsk near the lake Disorder (Orenburg region). It is the biggest colony of this kind in Russia (on 1600 people). Now the colony contains about 700 people. The number of personnel — about 900 people.

   The colony received the unofficial name on the fountain built in its yard with the sculpture representing a black dolphin.

   For all history of prison it wasn't made any escape. According to some information, "The black dolphin" is colony with the most high security for sentenced to life imprisonment that, however, isn't confirmed officially.

The prison contains not only for life prisoners, but also concluded with a general regime.

   In prison strict insulation from contacts between prisoners. In the camera there are about 2-4 persons, however there are prisoners who are contained in solitary confinements (for example, the cannibal Vladimir Nikolaev). Prisoners are under continuous video surveillance, the light in cameras is never turned off, prisoners in case of switched on light sleep. In case of an output escorted by prisoners follow the cynologist with a dog from the camera. Rise at 6 in the morning. After that the next 16 hours it is strictly forbidden to lie on beds. Characteristic feature of Black Dolphin prison — upon transition to other casing of prison by the prisoner put on a bandage eyes for orientation loss that they couldn't remember the plan of prison. The minimum number of the escorts accompanying the prisoner — three persons and the cynologist with a dog. Each 15 minutes on cameras there pass persons on duty. The size of the camera makes 4,5 square meters, and prisoners are separated from doors and windows by massive steel grids, thus, the camera represents a cell in a cell. From a barred window only the narrow strip of the sky is visible. Daily one and a half hour walks of prisoners take place in the special closed box.

   The first lifelong prisons in the Orenburg region appeared in Ekaterina's times.

The history of "A black dolphin" conducts the beginning with an Ekaterina's time. After suppression of a Pugachev's rebellion in 1773 there was in these regions a need in a jail for exiled of robbers. Centuries have passed, but purpose of an institution never changed. Strong walls equally truly served in the Orenburg steppes to all Russian sovereigns. There was both a transfer, and a jail, and tubercular "specialization" here, but the prison always remained prison.

   Has received the status of prison for for life convicts at the beginning of the 2000th years, earlier the special hospital for convicts was located here.
