Dick Holder, the Goblin

In a hut there lived a frantic, evil goblin named Dick Holder. Not an evil simple, chilly hut, filled with trousers and an ill-meaning smell, nor yet a worrying, carefree, damp hut with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a goblin-hut, and that means warmth.

One day, after a troubling visit from the alien Claude Balls, Dick leaves his hut and sets out in search of three dirty toast. A quest undertaken in the company of people, men and damp witches.

In the search for the alien-guarded toast, Dick Holder surprises even himself with his patience and skill as a computer programmer.

During his travels, Dick rescues a record, an heirloom belonging to Claude. But when Claude refuses to try jogging, their friendship is over.

However, Claude is wounded at the Battle of Waterloo and the two reconcile just before Dick engages in some serious jogging.

Dick accepts one of the three dirty toast and returns home to his hut a very wealthy goblin.
