True story of an Old Monk

There are so many people around us, who believe in ghosts and souls. Occasionally we hear or read about ghost stories. Sometimes we hear stories when people are able to capture ghostly images in cameras too. People usually debate over the existence of souls and ghosts. Those who are not ready to believe in the vanity of ghost existence, ask believers or people who witnessed such incidences to stop spreading such rumors. Personally, I feel that after death until either the soul gets dissolved in Brahma or does not take birth in any other body, it keeps on wandering. God exists, this is the inconceivable truth, then how does the rottenness of the soul be considered? After disintegration, after destruction, every form of any kind becomes either or in some form or in some form, it remains in the same quantity, as the soul continues to exist, as long as the soul does not unite in the divine or become incarnated in the body, remains present.

Well, today I have not come here to give a talk on this topic. I am here to share a story which I heard from my uncle who spend several years India while he was studying yoga.

That was a long time ago. A group of 6-8 people of Sigra village near Varanasi, India went to a Kali temple for Darshan (sight). This temple of Goddess Kali was in a forest but there were lots of nearby shops,Dharamshala (motels) etc., there were also raw paved roads. However, densely forested trees give the feeling of forests. This Goddess Kali temple was considered as a very lively place. There was a crowd of devotees at all times, but the time of going inside the temple was from 8 am to 8 pm. In view of the overwhelming crowd of devotees, another door was opened beside the main door in the temple, so that the devotees would enter the main door and exit from the other door.

The group of devotees of Sigra village reached the temple around 7 o'clock in the evening and after visiting went around the temple and began to enjoy the fair there. In order to show their fearlessness, this group entered the dark forest and went deeper inside it. It was already dusk and when someone in the group said that now they should go back and they will roam the forest in daylight, but others protest by saying that are you afraid, we are so many people and there is no need to be afraid. In doing so, this group went quite inside the forest. Now in the darkness of the night, the group was not even able to find the way, nor was there any light burning in the vicinity of the temple. Now the group totally lost its way and unable to find there way back to the temple. Well, a man in the group pulled out a matchstick from his pocket and lit some papers in the hall and lit the lights.

What was seen by that group in the light was very appalling, some male skeletons were also seen nearby, and some weirdly scary creatures on the trees were seen sticking to this troupe. Now all the people in this group were completely silent and shaking in fear. No one was daring to utter a word but they slowly got stuck close to each other. Then somebody out of the group dared to put some dry grass on the fire, and then the fire became a little stronger.

The group decided unanimously that we should not go any whereas its dangerous because they have forgotten the way and they did not understand where to go. Those people decided in whispering voices that they have to stay here somehow till the dawn. Since these people were from the village and these people had been faced many times with the ghosts, so they were scared, but not so much they started screaming, scared or start running. The group showed courage and started to make the fire faster because now the group started to feel that there are some bad souls here and they want to take them all in their grip.

Seeing the surrounding, this group was completely frightened and sweated from inside but did not want to bring this fear on the face, because they knew that if they were scared they would have lost it. Souls feed on fear. Some members of the congregation had tightly held each other's hands and were completely cautious. Some people started studying Hanuman Chalisa (Holi hymn) etc. Some people were crying for the Goddess Kali mother of that forest. Suddenly a terrible soul appeared in front of them and started screaming in the form of rowdy form. The atmosphere of that time became even more alarming and tense. Now the fear of this group had begun to appear on the face, the faces had started red and these people came tightly to each other.Right that moment, several other bad Spirit started appearing, making the entire environment even more terrible. There have been some other dreadful souls. Now the whole group was very much scared and started thinking that now there is no way to survive. Now there were about 5-6 souls, and with their strange antics, they were making the atmosphere completely terrible.

A man in the congregation courageously said that if he has to die then he will face them (evil spirits) and die. Take away the knives etc., pick up the sticks and face them. In fact, at that time people used to have small knives in their pockets and some people used to have the sticks all the time. Two people in this group also had sticks and three knives near. Now all were fully prepared to fight.

But perhaps they did not have the right to fight. Ithappened as soon as a terrible soul attacked them, his head cut off andseparated and he ran very fast without a head and his head also ran away. Nowthe atmosphere had become terribly rugged because an old person who looked likea monk and was only wearing white cloths, was fighting with these evil spiritsand cutting them with his sword. Within new few minutes, he cut all evilspirits into the half. But the thing to note was that no soul died, but all ofthem were shouted out in a most strange voice. Now the troupe fell on the feetof that gentleman monk and was thanking him for saving their lives.

The glorious, mighty monk has started moving forward by pointing them to follow him. After about 15 minutes of walking, the troupe had reached near a cottage. There was no trace of fear. That old Monk pointed to these people to come inside the cottage. Upon reaching the cottage, these people kept their stuff aside and relaxed. Then old monk without uttering a single word gave them a gesture to sat down to eat. A second monk came out from inside the cottage and he placed the leaves of a tree in front of these people in the form of a leaf. After that Old monk kept putting some different tree leaves on that leaf. While doing this, the troupe seemed very puzzled but nobody had the courage to ask old monk anything. Then that monk took water from the kamandal (water pot), enchanted some mantras and sprinkled water on the tree leaves. All of a sudden all of those leaves turn into plates and each of them had a dish in it as per the person wish. Then, as suggested by the old monk, this group started to eat without any questions. Once done, the group told old monk that they are tired and want to sleep. Old monk allowed them to sleep. Everyone was pretending to sleep. They are not frightened in this cottage, but seeing the activities of the old monk, they were bewildered and thinking that in the morning they will ask old monk about this all.

In the morning, their awake only when the sun rays fall on the face of this group. Everybody in the group was very surprised because there was no cottage and neither any sigh of the old monk. Moreover, these people were also lying down on the grass in the same way. They did not understand where the cottage and monk disappeared. Well, now these people had no choice, after a little more exploration, they found the way and these people came back to the fair near Goddess Kali temple. After coming back to the fair, these people meet the priest of Kali Mata temple and tell all the incident. The priest, after exhaling a long breath, said that old monk is a Divine Spirit, who lives in this forest. He is seen only in the night and also to those who forget their way. Also, by providing shelter in the night to those people, then no one knows where he disappears. That priest also told that such incident shave heard him quite devoutly. Not only this, he has scattered the corner of the forest with 9-10 people in the daylight, but never got any old monk or any such cottage.

Well, this troupe wanted to do something else. The group again dared to enter the dark forest in the night. The troupe wanted them to be harassed by the evil spirits and old monk would come and save them. The whole group wanted that as soon as old monk reappear to save them, they will ask him about this mystery and hopefully old monk will answer their questions. Suddenly as they move dipper into the forest, they met the other monk who severed them tree leaves. That monk told them that I know what is going on in your mind. Do not make such a mistake. Let some things remain a mystery. And most importantly, me and my master(Old Monk), had come to see Goddess Kali in this forest, but in the forest, some bandits killed us in the night.Had given Then our souls have never left this forest and have awakened all night to protect the devotees from the bandits and evil spirits.

Its been several years, but still that old monk rises every night to fight the evil.

The End!

I would like to visit this kali temple for adventure. Where exactly is it?

This incident happened somewhere near Varanasi in India. Its in northern part of India.

I do believe in Jinn Jinnat. They do exist. No doubt about it.

Its nothing else than a holographic projection of different realms.
