The star was shining bright. She looked around but the beach was deserted. The sky was dark and the sun had set long ago. This place was very busy back when the COVID scare was not there. People used to crowd the street food eateries and the night was always young. Couples enjoyed the night out and never did anyone put on a sour face.
How the times changed. There was nobody about and she felt as if the shadows too were not present. The sound of the waves was the only thing she could hear. Lost in her thoughts, she walked along the stone path and reached the deserted huts which once had people sitting down to enjoy drinks.
Was she scared? She was not sure what to be scared of- the unseen fears that prompted people to think of imaginary stuff or the real fears of the pandemic that had locked down the humankind.
She could see the moon peeping from behind a cloud and smiling at her. It was a perfect night. She switched on the light inside a hut and took out her paints and easel and started drawing. The stars and the moon looked like a heavenly blanket to her and she was happy again.
