a man was passing an elephant. he suddenly stopped, confusingly seeing that, this huge animal was being tied by only a small rope that tied to his leg. No chains, no cages. It was sure that the elephants could anytime break away from their bonds but he did not.
He saw a trainer there and asked why this animal just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when he was very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie him and, at that age, it’s enough to hold him. As they grow up, he is make himself to believe he cannot break away. he believe the rope can still hold him, so he never try to break free.”
The man was amazed! This animal could at any time break free from his bond but because he believed he couldn’t, he was stuck right where he was..
Like an elephant, how many of us hanging on a belief that we cannot do anything, because we failed at it once before?
being failed is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.
